Imlie ki Malini Didi was a bimbo who turned into a psycho...but mainly because the ML was much more honest and honorable in that story and straight up told her that he only loves Imlie....on top of that, he had the guts to accept that he never loved Malini and he mistook a close friendship for love....lol Ani mein toh nahin dikh rahe yeh guts cuz is show ka narrative hi yehi hai ki aakhon ke saamne waale sach ko andekha kar do

I fully agree with your arguments for Arshi..I never found her a positive character...She is elitist, arrogant, jealous and insensitive...Just because she remained loyal to Ani for all these years doesn't make her a good person..

Ani is a much more complex character than Aditya...Also definition of righteousness is very different for the two MLs of the two shows..for Aditya, righteousness is not staying with PL because he loves FL whereas, for Anirudh, his sense of righteousness makes him feel miserable if he comes out of his long term commitment with PL despite falling for FL..

It was easier for Aditya to think about breaking off with Malini because he strongly believed it to be the right thing ..but for Ani as well as for J, falling for J despite being in relationship with Arshi is deemed wrong..

Ani will definitely reach Aditya's stage when he openly will declare that Arshi is not his choice as partner..we just have to wait and see how makers decide to do that...

I don't really agree that the difference between Ani and Adi is about the definition of righteousness. Adi was a fundamentally more mature character than Ani....he was headstrong about his fight for truth and justice but overall there was a maturity in his character which was also highlighted via the age gap between him and Imlie. Adi's struggle was about being trapped in a web of lies despite being so righteous as a person. Ani lies as easily as breathing and never reflects on his lies. And after 300 episodes, I don't expect the writers to suddenly be able to add much layers on this front....Ani was shown to get clarity about his love for Jhanak in Mumbai but even then never shown wondering why he's still living with Arshi....his character is never brought to that point to keep the episode count going....lol it's all hawaa mein and vague with Ani with just a random realization on and off for drama but overall the vagueness stays in place.

It was not easier for Adi to break off with Malini....come on. He MARRIED her for real...lol that was like FULL ON BIGAMY....and he STILL found the guts to break up with her. STILL found it within himself to stand up for the fact that HE wronged her and Imlie both with the bigamy. Malini was full on worshipped like a Devi by Adi's family and he still found the guts to take this stance. Even when Imlie was also not supporting him and busy with her Didi bhakti....Adi fought the world to take a stand for the truth when the time came....meanwhile Ani ka toh heart fail ho gaya even though he's not actually stuck in a real marriage

Ani can't reach any stage until makers keep his thoughts and POV a black box with just limited reflection on one topic at at time

Only one thing is common between Malini and Arshi....they are both getting a free pass over the "long term relationship" card ki uske naam pe kuch bhi bolo ya karo, no one will say anything.....that it doesn't matter if the person in the relationship is not happy with you but you can keep on going around crying about itne saal "invest" kiye toh you better stay with me now even if shaadi nahin hui hai for real

Joking...I didn't follow Imlie show regularly coz I didn't like Sambul, Gashmeer and the overall set up of the show...so if you have watched it seriously, you will be a better person to judge the characters of the show..

As you said Adi was headstrong...and he liked things to be sorted and clean in his life..whereas, Ani's brain doesn't work like that ...to him, what he feels right must be achieved using whatever tactics possible, without considering the long term consequences...by easier for Aditya I meant this only...it was easier for Aditya to think of coming out of a full fledged marriage coz his thoughts patterns were straightforward...

Ani ko ye conclusive decision making ka arc dena hi padega at some point in story...makers simply uses his indecisiveness to stretch the storyline... that's why makers use the tactics of J never allowing Ani to speak up for their relationship 🤣🤣 J didn't allow him to speak up during pre mehendi conversation and in the recent hospital conversation also, she did the same...ek baar khullam khulla baat ho gayi to problem hi nahi rahegi!! Time and again makers have shown that Ani can turn against his family and the world for J..agr J ne uska saath de diya to show 1000 episodes kaise banega!!😆😆

LOL Imlie was an obviously better written show to start with. Even for an adaptation of Ishti Kutum, they executed the initial 150 or so episodes of storyline superbly....the kind of layers of emotional complications that story had and how it was executed was class even with the backdrop of such a controversial topic. They kept Adi's character so honorable despite him having conducted bigamy....lol that is an impossible tightrope to walk but he still managed it. Aditya-Imlie's story had a lovely soulful angle to it that ofcourse was ruined later on to prop up psycho Malini and new ML....lol

Jhanak has not been written that deep to begin with......and actually that is an advantage for the show....when you have that much depth, it becomes harder to pivot....lol but here Leena Aunty seems clear about her mission of episode count increase so everything works around that rather than giving much coherent arcs to the characters....lol hence the constant flip flops and pivots from everyone.

Ani making conclusive decisions will change a lot in the story....lol so they are probably pushing that as far down the line as they can and milking whatever they can from the status quo vagueness with giving him some crumbs of clarity like currently it's the clarity that he loves Jhanak.....not sure how many more episodes before he gets the clarity that he isn't married to Arshi and she has no claim on him. In the interim, they will just show him roasting Arshi and his family from time to time but definitive break nahin karega for some vague reason or the other

LOL maine toh comparison nahin start kiya....it's clear that Leena and Gul ke goals are very different with the respective shows.

Ani ka "confusion" is a plot device to increase episode count toh yeah usko jitni der tak confused and "mujhe kuch samajh nahin aa raha" rakh sakte hain, rakhenge....

Adi was all about sach suraj ki tarhaan hota hai and GM found a way to give Adi integrity in every situation....meanwhile Jhanak mein saara drama hi is baat pe chalaate hain that sabko Ani ki integrity pe doubt rehta hai

Baat shuru Arshi ke character se hui thi and how makers don't need to officially make her a vamp cuz uski nastiness waise hi obvious hai but no one in the story reacts to it....lol she gets an eternal free pass in victimhood.

Even Krushal will leave after a point of time if makers keep making his character unrealistic for long... he's already expressing displeasure with the recent butchering of Ani..
