I hope I can add one dimension to this take on Ani choosing Arshi as a comfort zone etc
I am tagging Priya as it is her question in the first place..Aniโs falling in love with Jhanak was pretty gradual and which is why the position of Arshi as his partner was always a real possibility for him, at least very unconsciously in the beginning. For the longest time he has clearly compartmentalised his feelings as Pyaar and zimmedariโฆ in fact today also the compartmentalisation is thereโฆ itโs another matter, what was pyaar before is zimmedari now and what is zimmedari is pyaar now..
slowly there was change in this dynamic in how he started viewing his zimmedari pyaar lens โฆin fact his realisation for his changed feelings for Jhanak in its full impact came about only much much later but even in that stage there was a resigned feeling of reconciliation that nothing much could come of it as perhaps they were meant to lead separate lives. ( this may have been due to Ani feeling that his love for Jhanak isnโt reciprocated by her) . So Arshi was firmly entrenched in the picture throughout that period. So leaving Arshi didnโt cross his mind until it was too lateโฆ we know the point it happened and while he could have still chosen to come clean with Arshi irrespective of Jhanak we know he isnโt wired that way and he will understand the full impact of his choices soon enough or perhaps the process has started.
Also through the entire period as Ani and Jhanak formed attachment, it was Jhanak who largely felt the force of the moral angleโฆ Ani has been oblivious to it and so even when he accepted his feelings for Jhanak completely, and was even at the stage of telling Jhanak that he can no longer honour the promise to her to marry Arshi, ( that he wasnโt able to complete the convo is another thing) he was angry at Jhanakโs insistence on the promise as he never understood Jhanakโs fears about the havoc the relationship will bring to their lives. So he again went to Arshi this time out of spite.. not realising how all this could backfire badly. Asmi has described beautifully the way the force of our actions come to visit us.
In summation, if in art through a fictional tale, if I want to tell a story of two individuals who fall in love in a specific set of circumstances, as a writer what are kind of impediments can I put in the tale creatively in the tale before they ride into the sunset? Yes, itโs possible as individuals we are saying arre why are they not doing this, why are they not doing that but how much of it seems in line with characterisation is keyโฆ do I accept their motivation? Or do I understand why each is behaving in a certain way? Can I see how they are changing with more milestones ( sometimes good sometimes bad?

You know what I think ....,
In the initial episodes what stood out for me was the clarity that Ani always had.For him Jhanak was his "zimmedari"....at least he believed so...who was very very important to him but he used to firmly believe that Arshi was his love...Thats why RuNak thrived on emotional intimacy..thereโs never any sexual tension initially as he was fully confident of himself that thatโs never going to happen. Now when I look back He trusted himself much more than Jhanak trusted herself in this matter...She had the emotional awareness to realise what it might lead to.but for him...his trust on himself was Evident because thereโs zero inner conflict or hesitation of any kind on his part while lying to his own people or even Arshi for Jhanak & her safety or simply to hide..bcz he had compartmentalized his life...and his conscience was clear that he was not doing anything drastically wrong here...just trying to keep everyone happy as it is a small thing..She will leave in few days and then things would be normal..The sheer level of his candour in doing these things can come only from a total lack of guilt because heโs absolutely sure nothing untoward would happen...
But then things happened.... birthday date and her leaving for Kashmir made him realise that the lines are blurring....and finally in Kashmir fever night he confessed that he has fallen for her ...but then that means....the trust that he had on himself was broken,he himself broke it ...now that "shame" was not a good emotion to go through....and that's why he needed Jhanak to be there with him to deal with this emotions....
Jhanak for her own right reasons didn't give him that, rather could not.....
Soo I believe when confessed his love to Jhanak, it was a overwhelming reaction to the accusations thrown by her driven by sickness that any way makes us realise the mortality of life so he confessed but..he was not mentally prepared to deal with the emotions that came after that...so he became soo soo vulnerable and may be volatile......
His love for her was associated with guilt and shame....and for Jhanak Ani's love was always tainted bcz of the circumstances and her past....
So how could they fight for something that they themselves were not proud of....rather ashamed of......
They need to first honour their own feelings for it to be their strength, otherwise their love will be their weakness that will bring out only worst in them.....
So I hope we are heading towards a journey where their love will be their strength now....I hope....

Ohoo okk...so Mumbai track successfully done and dusted ..
Like every track, in this track also only Arshi didi got benefitted...she won award without any efforts..
J is regretting after rejecting him โฆ but he has no regret at all ..
Yaa Arshi didi benefitted โฆ but for a while Ani told them to go ahead to airport he will join later .. but S dragged Arshi also to drag Abi out of the room.. these people wonโt leave Abi so easily for sure

that pushing of boys was missing.. it looked normal
