But the issue is when things which most of the viewers take as negative is shown , the writers leave it open for us to assume. That is why Anirudh is always been on the bashing end. When we see a show for thirty minutes daily its for entertainment or relaxation ,who will sit and analyse things so deeply like we do.
So when they show some odd things they need to execute it well and give him strong dialogues or monologue which gives the viewers the feel that he is the lead of the show who is concerned about the heroine and not the one who makes her life hell.
That is why this Anirudh is being bashed all over the social media.
Initially when he was simple still people had issues with his intentions , when he rescued her in the Kashmir epiosde which is the story itself he was claimed as bad and we used to discuss a lot of his actions...so now when things are so negative I want the makers to make it clear and not make us assume things.
Now let them show him with a monologue of how Arshi told him if she loses it is end of her life or Shristi threatening him, something conventional so that viewers are convinced ....
Most of the time we need to assume things, may be that is the aim to keep the buzz .
But unfortunately in this game Anirudh character is being bashed and bashed to infinity and tarnished .
Mayaโฆ I get your point.
As a person who loves for the narrative to unfold with pregnant meanings I still doff my hat for nuanced characterisation. I agree kabhi kuch jhada hi ho jaata hain but phir bhi give me characters in a story that I can feel for and think about.
Bold - the audience is usually laidback and has no inclination to try to read a characterโs core traits. The enigmatic nature of the ML is a lever used by the writer to turn the switch as per the requirements of the pathway planned.
Yet, this forum is a place where the characters get discussed a great deal.. Yes we see them differently many times and that is natural given how each one approaches the tale. However I feel i should still ask of those who canโt absolutely relate to Ani now a questionโฆ
Donโt they sense a different Ani? What do they think this is a result of? If he has indeed moved on why could he not be business like and ask Jhanak to repay the debt if that was something so dear to him due his overflowing love for his wife? Ani has been known for using circumstances for achievement of his goal, however twisted the means be for the end he desires. If anyone reads Ani from the start, this has been a specific trait and I often wrote in the start that I read him as a man using the path of least resistance for achieving his end. I also said at some point he will be made to analyse this. If you see, Jhanakโs moral dilemma pitted with his underhand means and a golden aim was a recipe for disaster.
Today that same man is using underhand means for a cause he believes in ( the cause is hidden from us but only partially) but is no longer able to claim โthat the means donโt matterโ
He is apologetic, upset, teary so many things the old Ani never was when he went about achieving his end. The greatest irony in this case, I suspect is that the end is also Jhanak whom he is actually protecting from harm but the means he chooses is putting her in such a terrible state.
I understand the anger of viewers towards Ani; when you love a character deeply, their inexplicable actions can hurt you.
I have not yet reached the stage of disowning Ani coz I knew this turn in the tale will come ( did not read the way in which it will come)
Today I see a desolate Ani whose confidence of Main sambhal loonga is all gone!! He is need of encouragement but uski taqdeer ki jhoothe kha raha hain!!
I am attached to both characters but dispassionately where I can see their flaws for what it is and not get perturbed that some such turn has happened in the tale. If I was Krushal I will be happy that a writer is making an effort to flesh out the character.. yes itโs too enigmatic for the audience at times but still look at the range he is getting to display. Nuance is key in characterisation
Having said all this I remain aware that flipping is just a scene away..Letโs see!!
