You need to compare with shows of Green which have been hits. Kabli pullao views were pretty bad - it maybe hit a good over 4 TRP once. Otherwise shows of Green aren’t TRP getters. It’s been established again and again. I saw some predicting 20+ TRPs and 20M views for GM but even then many of us pointed out it’s impossible for that channel. The stars argument or logic has never mattered. For example:
Akhaara started off good with over 10M views but it plummeted badly. Finale barely has 4M views. Same with 22 qadam. Started off with 10M and then finale hasn’t even hit 2M. You can see the drastic decline in views after it’s premiere. Does that translate into Feroze and Wahaj not being popular? Of course not. It means introducing new concepts gets audience interested but isn’t able to sustain the interest. By that standard over 9M for GM is right on the Green trend of its popular shows.
The efforts Green is making will take a lot of time. Making shows about cricket, wrestling, gang wars or politics isn’t going to grasp audiences overnight. Nor are atypical love stories like KP and even Tumhare Husn Ke Naam. All excellent shows with critical acclaim but audience meter aise nahi badalty. Not to mention Sunday has big names like Sajal on Hum doing a female centric show and Danish on Geo as well doing a full time masala show. GM isn’t a lone superstar show airing that day. Competition is tough and Hum Geo has its loyal viewership. Yesterday’s first interview by SH with HS and Yumna established that this script was always meant for Green and was specially made for that channel for promoting new content. It was not HS’s script that he could air on the usual channels.
Having said that, GM has only had 4 episodes - Abhi tou story start hoi hai - and yet it’s being praised and getting critical acclaim. From script to direction to performances, everything is holding its own. I suggest you watch the episodes of KDH from which polls the screen shots you have mentioned were taken the discussion in the show and the final results.
Even its OST is over 11M views now. Compared to shows which are airing at the same time who have not even half of that
