Angad gifts divorce because his ego was hurt she might file first. A clear example of ego. We can find many more.
Like Angad has done nothing for the kid but immediately claimed the child on knowing it is his blood and got offended that someone else is called dad , that was not ego apparently.
Also they are not showing Sahiba immediately take easy way out because they want Sahiba to feel bad for Angad and sacrifice herself, something she did not do for Akir. Sahiba speaking up even once that she did not like him throwing her out while pregnant and not caring for her life for years is ego. How the hell is anyone supposed to go randomly tell no beta that is not your dad? Kid clearly is attached to Diljeet.
Angad stands by his decision to never look for Sahiba in years despite knowing she nearly died delivering his kid. He happily did not search once for Sahiba and ran away with her kid to Ludhiana and had no complaints that his mom framed her for his crimes. He only wants that kid because it is his blood, not because he has any love for either the mother or kid.
The fact that people claimed they want Sahiba to at least ask once why he never cared about her life or death in years , she asked the question but only because she knows Akir will ask same question. But now that is ego. Stealing a kid after framing mother is not. Only Brars are allowed to commit endless crimes in ego but Sahiba asking one valid question is not. Not like Angad will answer or show guilt that he left his wife to die for years but is claiming the kid she raised now.
You will never hear Angad think once about all the pain Sahiba went through to deliver and raise his spawn. But you will hear Sahiba talk about how great a father Angad is cause he *checks notes* became a waiter, what a painful task for a man whose prime job description is to abuse and hide his family's crimes.
