i know. the world has learned nothing from history. whenever we talk about previous genocides, people tend to ask how the rest of the world let them happen and how if they happened now, people would react differently. yet here we are. there's a genocide happening right in front of us, while the world sits around and watches. in fact, not just watches, but they encourage it by siding with the oppressor. this is not a conflict. this is not a war. anyone who tries to remain neutral in this situation or tries to give us the two-side bs has chosen to stand on the side of the oppressor.
the irony is what kills me. people stand with ukraine when they take up arms against russia because they believe that ukraine has the right to defend itself. but if palestinians try to fight back and resist annihilation, they are labeled terrorists. israel has been inflicting torture and suffering on the palestinians for decades now, where were all these concerned people when thousands of palestinians were massacred, wounded, and displaced? doesn't that give palestinians the right to fight back, just like they claim that israel's response is justified? the message is clear - one group's lives hold value in the world's eyes, while the other group's lives don't matter because they are dehumanized.
i try to find some solace in the fact that israel is at least losing the propaganda war like they have never before. the world has eaten up their lies for decades but now people are opening their eyes up to truth. don't get me wrong, of course there are still plenty of people in the world who stand with israel and believe the lies spread by them, but there is a certain shift. people are rejecting their lies and are questioning the news that comes out of their mouthpieces. this is new.
