A weekend show has to meet certain expectations, as this is when you get the highest ratings. When the promo came out there was suddenly a buzz, and Roag was now on everyone's tongue.
Here we dissect this A & B Productions serial for you . Find out if it meets the expectations.
Story : Based on a novel, Roag tells the story of child abuse, showing the dark reality. It tells the story of Nimra(Sumbul Iqbal) who gets raped in her childhood.The story focuses on how this incident changes her life, and affects her entire family. It shows the humiliation the family has to go through.
On the other hand is the story of Ali, who gets kidnapped in his childhood. The story shows the heart broken family that has to live without the son.
A novel, and never before touched concept. The story has many twists and turns, that keep you hooked. Disclosing them would spoil the serial for you , so I would restrain from doing so. The most novel part about the story is that it never gets predictable, and each episode has something new to offer. Brilliant!
Technicalities : Here the captain of the ship is the man himself, Mr.Babar Javed. He already has a brilliant resume, and now add Roag to the list. This is one of his most accomplished work.The man does complete justice to the script. He extracts amazing performances out of everyone. An issue like this is hard to handle, and one can go wrong any where, kudos to Mr.Babar Javed for handling the subject so beautifully. It hits you hard (giving you a chance to think). The drama remains true to its root.
The camera work is perfect. The background music is amazing. It comes at the right place, and adds to the happenings. Editing is crisp, no complains. The OST has some beautiful lyrics-which give the right message. The dialogues(Faiza Iftikhar)are great, and each one has a message.
Characters : The serial has some beautifully written, and crafted characters. Lets discuss some.

When the first look of Roag was released, I found it quite childish. It was an image of Faisal Qureshi carrying Sumbul Iqbal.
