But we can also assume that since the client wants Ruhi in jail and Abhira pursuing this in Court, wants the same thing. There was no discussion shown between the client and Abhira - they just showed the client expressing their wish to have Ruhi in jail, and Abhira supporting her client.
Okay for argument's sake, let me agree that Abhira doesn't want Ruhi to go to jail. However, despite what Abhira seeks, at the end of the day, it is up to the judge to award or punish, this includes imprisonment. So there is always a risk of imprisonment. Particularly, if you have a strict judge, and not a lenient one.
It can also go horribly wrong, and Ruhi gets imprisoned.
So why would Abhira want to expose Ruhi to the risk of imprisonment?
Accidents can always have worse consequences, hence people are punished according to the consequences e.g someone died, you would go to prison, someone is injured, and you have to pay compensation.
You also have to consider the person - are they repeat offenders? Were they grossly negligent? Their character and so on. These factors are also considered when deciding on a punishment. It's not simply just it could have had even worse consequences, then that person deserves the maximum punishment.
why will it "go horribly wrong" when Ruhi's crime isnt of that magnitude ? Abhira hasnt bribed the judge to award a punishment which is out of line with the magnitude of crime
factoring in all the aspects of how negligent they were, what happened, are they repeat offenders or not- the judge will decide the magnitude of punishment.
thats precisely why a court case is happening. whatever is the max awardable punishment which is in line with the degree of offense committed and the track record of the accused- only that will be given by a judge
Abhira is not fabricating anything. she will present her client's facts and Armaan will present pro Ruhi facts too. and judge will decide.
For argument sake lets say Abhira wants Ruhi in jail. so? uss seh kya hojayega? Abhira ke chahne seh thodi na judge usko jail mein daalega. Judge will take into account all aspects and then give punishment
