I think Ani didn't speak up for Jhanak before because she wasn't standing up for herself, she gave in and accepted Avinash as her husband. Ani speaks up only when Jhanak is unable to help herself like in the precap where she is being forced.

But that's wrong considering it's Ani who got her into all this mess. Rightfully he should be the one who should search for an ideal groom for Jhanak if she wants to get married. If he considers her responsibility he shouldn't let SK exploit Jhanak like that.

As Jhanak said whenever Jhanak needs him he bails out and says Jab jaan jaane ki naubat aayegi tab aaunga tumhaari help karne varna tum apna khud dekhlo

But whatever being done or said , Anirudh is always there ...the only thing is he needs to get the hint and she should fight for her .

When she is unable to fight he stands up for her...

A conversation that happens between a pair of eyes drowned in love. I saw a lot of that today...

The episode starts with a beautiful shot of Ani and Jhanak removing the things obscuring their eyes to face each other straight. This is what happens when two people are deeply in love with each other.... Wherever they are, their eyes seek each other out eventually. Because they cannot see anything but each other... a crowd full of people is the last thing on their minds. One thing I did not mention last time is how Jhanak's gaze was always on Ani to the point he was sucked into hers too... When there are no words left to say by the mouth, the eyes do the talking... which is happening here. Jhanak doesn't want to even leave one moment where she cannot see Ani in her periphery. She wants to maintain the connection with him... no matter the cost. And Ani falls prey to those doe eyes... unable to remove his gaze either. Finally, both break their stare as Ani moves away from the mandap, a person unable to see and decipher the meaning behind those eyes. Jhanak continues the ritual... and JK notices what happened between the two like a Hawk. She follows Ani who left the mandap.

And we have the Biatch trio (SK-Tanuja-TMW/Naagin Bhabi) speaking about the ongoing nuptials. I don't want to spare words for the biatches except for the fact the Tanuja now officially joins the list of irredeemable Basus on my mind. SK tho kuch bholna nahi hai, the way she undermines every effort of Jhanak crediting it to Ani... screams Insecurity and fear of actual talent. On top of this, she also proudly boasts that she did the farz of a maasi. Yuck! Anyways, the three biatches are hoping their plan doesn't backfire. But it will.

Women really are the greatest enemies for other women... Whoever said it 100% right. At least here.

Humari SK ki priyaputri JK comes and probes Ani on his thoughts by pretending to be the caring sister. She mentions to Ani how Avinash Babu's is dead as a result of a Heart attack. She hopes that people don't consider Jhanak to be Ashubh because of this. Ani is shocked at first trying to understand the implications but soon masks his emotions and assures JK it's their family business and not ours.

"Dekho Arshi, log jo bhi bhole wo humari problem nahi hai... humne apni duty puri kar di. Ab Sringar jaake unke saat kya higa ye humare control mein nahi hai..."

Why do I feel like you are saying this more to yourself because you got to know she will leave immediately after her marriage?

He assures her and asks her to go as he will join a little later. But all his walls come down the minute he is alone... Contemplating the time which is further shortened for Jhanak's departure. The way his eyebrows creased... maan hi mann mein he would be asking why this is happening to him...

A lot of people thought JK's dialogue here was stupid, but I think this was more in line with her trying to keep Ani in check by probing how he feels about the wedding. Her worrying about Jhanak being called unlucky is only an outlet for her insecurity and need to besmirch Jhanak for the fainting hug. Also, I feel somewhere she doesn't know the actual plan unlike the Biatch trio she fears that the marriage will be stopped. She joins the mandap as the varmala ceremony starts... Ani comes after her.

Small tremors in Jhanak's demeanor betray her inner fear and sadness. The way she closed her eyes as if accepting this was god's plan as she aimed to put the garland on the groom... But god had other plans for her and Ani. Sach mein...

Rake Hari More Kei

Who are we mere humans to interfere in Divine intervention?

As she was about to put the varmala, the plank slips which Ani notices and tries to help with. Kismat hai indono ko saat rehne ki... Varmala tho Ani ki gale mein aagaya.... as they both gaze in surprise and reminesce their kashmir wedding. The memory etched in their heart unforgettable...

The fate and universe are conspiring to grant God's wish to stay like this longer, paving a way to keep their stuck paths and love in the horizon for a moment more. Hinting at the lovebirds to heed...

Kisi aur bhi ho, Ani will always protect Jhanak when someone insults her.... Usse datne ka haak sirf Ani ka hai....

"Ye lo, jisse mala pehnani hai pehna do"

The reluctance with which you give her back the mala, I don't believe you.

The way Jhanak holds the varmala close to her heart... can you not see the pain in her eyes and her actions Ani?? Hiba did well here. The hesitation in Jhanak, the pain of wanting to hold on to this serendipity for a moment longer... my heart broke.

Humari groom Tejas Babu is clear... Usse pehni hui mala nahi chahiye.... True. The varmala dyed in God's grace and their love should never be tainted by your hands.

The Kardashians and Basus start arguing... but SK cuts it short and wants to finish the marriage in a shortcut. Stupid. Don't take shortcuts. Didn't you learn basic moral sciences??

Anyways, Varmala exchange happens as Ani looks at Jhanak with tears in his eyes. Again, both their eyes are enough to exchange all their ghile shikwe and pyaar bina jijak ke.

The bride and groom then enter the mandap to sit as Jethu and Anjana talk somberly about Jhanak's departure. Bodomaa's talk about her bhuri kismat of not having a chance to meet Jhanak in the future again reminded me of the prevailing theme of Rake Hari Mare Ke... It was so lovely to see them talk so affectionately about Jhanak like their own daughter. Jhanak did gain a family in the Basus. The move closer to the mandap to stay near Jhanak.

Sindoor rasam starts and Jhanak notices that Taklu uncle's beard is missing... Tejas Babu why you came clean shaven??? She promptly stops the ritual midway and demands they accept her condition of seeing the Groom in exchange for her doing all the rituals without a question till now. She says that many accidents have happened in her life, and she is also an equal participant on the nupitals. Good that Jethu and Bodomaa supported her amidst the throes of Basus who denied her request and wanted the marriage to end as quick as possible.

Mujhe Ani ke monlogue Samaj mein nahi araha... even now he wants her to stand up?? How long can she fight alone?? like @Funcnv said. Ek class ki Idiot ho tum.

Despite TMWs effort to force her into completing the ritual, Jhanak remains stead fast. Loved how she clapped back saying it doesn't matter if she would be called Chodo hui ladki... You go girl! . She insists that she hasn't promised she will marry 100% and still remains stubborn non the condition that shehra of the groom should be lifted.

SK and Shubo argue that this is ritual, but she just stands up and says "Jb tak inka chehra nahi dekhti hoon inse shaadi nahi hogi..."

Episode ends there.

Note: Didn't talk much about Appu and Chotton. Special mention to them. The Ramayana dialogue by Tammi was crass.
