Rendered speechless most effectively.
Need water. No, coke with three cubes of ice.
You want to comb hairs? I wouldn't touch a thing.
You welcomed Red earlier today. Very Congratulations back to you.
Hello Cynth,
Lovely coming back here after so long and finding you in the Index!
Cooked to the point of done, indeed. Wonderful analogy with pressure cookers. A heart-wrenching episode this, and it's amazing how many emotions they packed into one... Much like all the "dabbas" from the Gupta ladies that went into that duffel bag.
I'm a fan of the complexity this episode carries. And both actors are captivating here...
you know this was actually the first episode of the show i ever watched...except my reasons for diving in then were oh so divine and shallow...simply put, the white shirt, the stubble, and all that Raizada-ness. I was unsure of the layers that were being unraveled but i was thoroughly intrigued...and still am which is why we are here, likening characters and their outbursts to pressure cookers.
The bottomless mug of frothy syrupy goody-goody desi tv concoctions...well, this episode is SO NOT any of that. Your writing it with such clarity has brought it all back from the memory bank. It feels so unpredictable in every move it makes - the way Khushi responds to Arnav's splintering accusations is tremendous stuff...strangely deceptive to the naked eye at first glance, and utterly heartbreaking by the time she leaves Gupta House waving to all and sundry in her vicinity. You are so right, she's like a whirlwind flying by, like it's any other day, especially to the Raizada, who is still reeling from all the lashing out he surrendered himself to on that "suicide terrace"...My absolute fave above, from all the lines I've turned red : Deep down, I believe he knows something is not right. I believe it too... and Uff how well he conveys that! The confusion, that constant lingering pain that has suddenly flooded it's way into existence, so much hurt and desperation... And so very much more. With a glance or a sentence he lets us in... Briefly... just till the next wave of anger hits and takes over. This is by far the most dynamic relationship i've ever seen, at least on indian television...and it sounds strange but even in the thickest of misunderstanding, it is honest.
Thanks to you, I'm back to where it all began for me. And have happily meandered into my own thoughts. Loved revisiting. Loved reading your take. See you later!
Congrats Blasters! This is for you!!! Thanks for being there for all the good and bad times!! 🤗
