In fact, the source adds that Emraan is taking a personal interest in completing and promoting the film. "There's a reason why he's among the top. He's a thorough professional and the most important thing is that he's not banner struck. His commitments don't change accroding to those factors," says a member from the production team.
The actor, who will soon be seen romancing Vidya Balan in Ghanchakkar was recently acknowledged by actor Salman Khan for being one of the most under-rated actors in the industry. But it's not just Salman who's been praising the actor, several from the trade and the industry seem equally impressed by 'hitman' Hashmi calling him one of the most saleable stars in Bollywood.
Talking about it, filmmaker Karan Johar who has signed Emraan for Ungli says, "Emraan has emerged as an extremely viable and dependable movie star. His connect to the masses has even transferred to the multiplex demographic making him an all-India phenomenon!" Director Anurag Basu agrees and adds, "It doesn't surprise me at all as I knew that he would make it big right from the time I worked with him in Murder." Filmmaker Milan Luthria says, "When I signed Emraan for Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai, I was alone to pitch him against the best. The same instinct told me to pitch him against a mainstream actress like Vidya for the first time in The Dirty Picture. It was an instinct that came from watching his cocky confidence and his massive audience connect in his earlier endeavours."
Emraan himself says that the key is not to take the audience for granted. About being a part of the big-league of stars today, he adds, "I always aspire to make sure that no one is disappointed with my films. The audience also realises that this guy does not take us for granted and probably that's worked."
