Comedy has sometimes been a challenging genre for Deepika, as her natural strength lies in dramatic and intense roles. Her performances in comedic roles have sometimes felt awkward or out of place, as some she lacks the natural comedic timing. Deepika has occasionally taken on roles that leaned heavily on glamour over substance, which hasn’t always showcased her acting potential.
Films where her character was underwritten or simply there to add star power sometimes detracted from her acting and drew criticism for being more style than substance. Although chennai express was a major hit, Deepika’s portrayal of a Tamilian girl received mixed reactions, particularly for her inconsistent South Indian accent. Some felt it added to the film's humour but others found it distracting and unnatural. Despite the film's success, her accent is often cited as one of the weaker parts of her performance.
In her role in Singham Again, some fans had high expectations for Deepika’s portrayal in this high-octane action universe. However, her performance doesn't fully align with the film she looks so cringe. yes these movie are usually cringe and overhyped anyways but it looks so forced and over the top that they were trying to open up a whole new female cop universe and its been ruined with this cringe not even funny character with an actress whose strong suit is not comedy and they also gave the character an accent when her accent is the same for every character she ever played.
