Unpopular opinion: Shehzada was better than Rohit as Armaan

I know people won't like my opinion but I have to say this now...

Shehzada's portrayal was much much better than Rohit's Armaan?

Why?

Because Shehzada ke Armaan ke saath wo angst, wo suffocation dikhta tha jo ek Golden child cum scapegoat ka hota hai. Jis par Ghar ki sari responsibilities daal di jati hain, jise dusro ki faults ka bojh uthana padta hai.

Rohit's ka Armaan to khud conformist dikhai deta hai. Uska to ye lagta hai ki wo jo kuch bhi kar rha hai wo uska khud ka nature hai. Jabki Shehzada wala Armaan jab Abhira ke saath rude hota tha to saaf taur par lagta tha ki he is emotionally conflicted (not because of love for her. Isliye ki wo nahi chahta ki Ghar me koi Klesh ho, he used to look like someone who doesn't want to be the cause of problems in the family. Someone who is treated as bojh).

Note: Although ITV ke shows ki kahani etni ridiculous hoti hain, especially YRKKH, ki aise character sketch likhna waste of time lagta hai. Udhar ghum me bhi kya fayda hua Shakti Arora ki mehnat ka! Kahani to shitty hai! Aur makers ko bhi kadar nahi.

Jaise Bollywood movies me heroines ko eye-candy ki tarah use karte hain waise hi TV par bhi MLs ko aise show piece banakar rakha jata hai. Makers chahte hain wo toxic ho, sirf heroine par chillaye. Aur Audience chahti hai ki wo sirf heroine ka dupatta sambhale aur uski aankho me khoya rahe!

Uski koi 3 dimensional kahani, koi character arc nahi likhna chahta.

Even I liked the former ML as Armaan better maybe coz the character was a bit different before his exit. smiley9

There is a reason it's an unpopular opinion.

Rohit and Sam are making this boring khichdi pass as veg pulao atleast. Briyani jaisa jab track hi nhi hai toh actor kaise serve karenge.

You wrote without even reading and understanding the post. Agar aapko is show ki story me kuch achha laga hai tabhi aaj wo aapko bakwas laga hoga! Par wahi mai puch Rahi hu ki isme achha hi kya hai? ITV par kaun sa achha show aata hai aap bataiye? Unless ki kisi ko sirf yahi dekhne ki aadat ho aur use yahi sab achha lagta ho!

Par story ek cheez hoti hai, dusri cheez hoti hai character... Story kaisi bhi ho, achche actors apne main character theme ko nahi bhulte.. isliye kuch achhe actors bakwas story me bhi apni jaan lagate hain.

And this has nothing to do with pair. Maine apne post me jis baat ki criticism ki wahi aapke sir ke upar chali gayi aur aapne use as it is repeat kar diya!

Problem yahi hai ki ITV audience ko hero ki personality/uske character conflict/separate goals se matlab nahi. Unse to bas Martin Sue ki tarah dekhna hai. Bas heroine se wo nain mattaka karte rahe aur audience khush!

It was indeed better. Purane Armaan ka depiction bilkul ek ML jaisa tha... Yani ki uski apni ek life/ek journey/conflict hai.. Lekin ye wala Armaan to sirf Ruhi vs Abhira ke context me jee raha hai! Baari baari se unka savior banane ki koshish kar rha!

Ab aise scenes nahi dikhaye jate jaha Armaan akele me grieve kar rha ho! Jaha wo aise dikhao de ki Apart from his jimmedari towards Abhira and everyone he is also an individual who needs his own space and he doesn't get it.

That's the main pull of his relationship with Abhira as well. Except Madhav she was the first to see his loneliness and pain which he used to hide on the daily basis to please others. You could see the trauma he was facing since the childhood.

Abhi wala Armaan to suddenly "Raja beta" jaisa act kar rha hai. Wo 90s ki movies wale hero ki tarah.. Jo sirf ek sanskari beta hai, traumatized beta nahi!

And I have nothing against actors per se! Aur maine in dono hi actors ke pahle ke shows na dekhe hain aur na dekhungi (as I don't watch ITV). 3rd Season me Jai Soni ki wajah se mai is show ko thoda bahut follow karne lagi. Even though Harshad Chopra ko starting se dekha tha and I like him a lot.

But mai characters aur actors ko mix nahi karti. Just because koi actor mujhe pasand hai ya wo achhi acting karta hai to iska matlab ye nahi ki uske character ko bhi defend karu!

Naye wale Armaan aur Ruhi ke saath writers ne bhi bahut character changes kiye hain. Lekin Samriddhi is handling so well to changes in her character but Rohit and Garvita aren't able to do it. May be they didn't bother to watch the show from the start and give their own interpretation. But character changes continuity ke saath hi samjh aate hain! Ekdam se raato raat character change hona to bad acting hai!

Abhira ka love sickness uske previous theme se match karta hai. She is acting out of character. She is naive, idealistic, self-respecting person who has high morals. Aise log jab pyaar me padte hain to they become self less to the extent where they lose something so valuable to their heart.

Also...

Mujhe popularity ke hisaab se cheezo ko nahi dekhna.

Kyonki aise to ITV ke sabse popular shows sabse jyada regressive hain.

Unpopular opinion in your thread. Rohit is a far better choice both in terms of acting and looks compared to previous actor. The previous actor was very poor in emotional outbursts kind of things. He used to either underact  or overact. He was only good in light scenes with Sam. Rohit is good both in light and emotional scenes. Previous one's crying scenes used to make me laugh.

Personally I cant say that Sheh was better than RoPu as an actor. I like them both acting wise. But RoPu seems a better co-actor for Sam. but Armaan 1.0 was better written than Armaan 2.0. i wish they didn't make Armaan 2.0 so unlikeable
