Aanand L. Rai's spokesperson: Female lead has not been finalised

Earlier in the day, there were rumours that Alia Bhatt will be seen opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Aanand L. Rai's upcoming film. A unit hand informed a leading tabloid, "Alia Bhatt is yet to sign on the dotted line, but has verbally committed to the film. The three actors will start prepping once Katrina Kaif completes the ongoing Abu Dhabi schedule of her film with Salman Khan. Rai plans to take the project on floors later this year."

The two created magic on screen with their 2016 film Dear Zindagi. Earlier, this month a picture of SRK, Alia and Aanand giving a spark to the rumours that she will be a part of the film.

However, if reports are to be believed, Deepika Padukone was also considered for the lead role. But, the Bajirao Mastani actor opted out of the film as she was busy with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati and hence couldn't give a nod to Aanand's film.

Not just Deepika, but reports also claimed that Katrina Kaif is also onboard for the film. A source was quoted saying, "Aanand and Katrina have been in talks, but there's been no script reading or narration yet."

Another source had earlier said, "The film is primarily about the journey of SRK from Meerut to the United States of America, and Katrina comes in as herself, at a very crucial time in the film."

However, there was no official confirmation on it and now, it's clear that no actress has been finalized for the role.

We all have to wait a bit more before we finally get to know who's pairing opposite SRK in Aanand L Rai's next.
