Boney Kapoor SLAMS LEGAL NOTICE for Priya Varrier's 'Sridevi Bungalow'

The wink sensation Priya Prakash Varrier became an internet sensation overnight. Although, yet again she has made it to the headlines, for her Bollywood debut with the film 'Sridevi Bungalow'. But, no sooner the film's trailer was released on January 13, the film has landed itself in trouble.     

The trailer features Priya as a lonely actress and it came under fire as it showed an actress's death in a bathtub, which is eerily similar to Sridevi's death that occurred last year. The legendary actress died after an accidental drowning in a bathtub and was the topic of much-heated discussion and debate in the country.

The trailer was slammed by several Twitter users as the viewers expressed their disaffection towards the trailer. Adding to it, Sridevi's husband Boney Kapoor has sent a legal notice to the team.

During a media interaction with the director, Prasanth Mambully confirmed, "We received a legal notice from Mr. Boney Kapoor last week. And we will face it. My film is a suspense thriller. I told him (Boney Kapoor) that Sridevi is a common name. My film's character also happens to be an actress. We will face it (the legal case)."  

Priya has refused to accept or deny whether the film is based on the actress or not. The young actress and her father has refused to comment on the legal notice and said it was for the director and producers of the film to address.
