"The first step in love is losing your head.
After the petty ego you then give up your life and bear the calamity.
With this behind you; proceed: Polish the ego's rust from the mirror of yourself."

A very thought provoking Crooner, Archu! Brilliant take on the "dor" that binds them together. Loved Kalpana's and Shweta's creations, too! For me, the episode was one better played out in reverse. Peeling back the layers back to front to reveal what is beneath. Ego, pride, everything aside, at the end of the day, there remains one absolute: the truth. No matter how much we run from ourselves, from our beings, the truth never rests. It comes out front and center, each and every time; omnipresent. Today the truth was revealed yet again in silences, actions and in words. First, to the words...
Over the weekend, I had said that Arnav's purpose now is to neutralize Khushi's ego...make her completely aware of her "haq" as his wife. In the office scene today, Arnav knew exactly what Khushi's reaction was going to be--he even anticipated her arrival which is why he had his back turned to her. He knew she would not come "home." He is essentially holding the mirror--ah, InDi, here we go-- up to her, yet again. He wants her to have complete awareness of who she is in this relationship. He wants her to step outside her pride and examine what this relationship means to her. Her reminder to him about everything getting better soon--now 11days-- is front and center here...She doesn't want to be interrupted, is hell bent on writing her own destiny--that term right out of her own husband's dictionary on life-- on her terms with no place in it for him...that is how hurt she is! Throwing things around...all part of her hurt. Her truth. Until she lets go of her pride and comes clean to him about why everything will be better in 11days, he will continue to hold that mirror up to her. There is no place for egos in a marriage or in love--window climbing, dishes bus-ing Arnav Singh Raizada--knows that now. Before they can truly embark on the journey of what it is to be married, they have to be on a level playing field...that is what he is creating for her now!!
Silences and actions: Isn't it interesting, though, that their ultimate "truth" only comes out in their silences; and today was no different. Foregoing all things electricity, water, house, what remained was what they've always felt and always known. A brilliant continuation from yesterday...
'I know this must come as something of a surprise to you, since all I've ever done is scorn you and degrade you and taunt you, but I have loved you for several hours now, and every second, more. I thought an hour ago that I loved you more than any woman has ever loved a man, but a half hour after that I knew that what I felt before was nothing compared to what I felt then. But ten minutes after that, I understood that my previous love was a puddle compared to the high seas before a storm. Your eyes are like that, did you know? Well they are. How many minutes ago was I? Twenty? Had I brought my feelings up to then? It doesn't matter.'
~William Goldman, The Princess Bride
The Habit.
Tug and pull...She can't stay away from him, he won't rest until he sees her. All under the pretense of a game. That is their truth. Arnav Singh Raizada climbs through a window just to see his beloved... and to tell her off!π Only after she hears his command to sleep, does she close her eyes. He clears up her plates and her cups...Arnav Singh Raizada, the husband, does something which he has never done as a brother or a son. All for his love. Removing traces of what she was upto the whole night thru...Leaving nothing behind for the elders to suspect. Ultimately, this game is just about the two of them...no one else is required. No one else invited. That is the truth. Seeing her slumped on the chair, he lifts her ever so gently--as he always does--to place her onto their bed. His eyes never once leaving her face, he takes in all of her...And then, her hand on his shirt. The very scene reminiscent of that hillside when he revived her after her fall. The instant where possession and togetherness became one. The moment when he knew he cannot live without this woman. Ever. She is heart and soul to him. She is his rhapsody. That is the truth.
He gently removes her hand from his shirt...But she never lets go...now his hand becomes a prized possession for her as she sleeps. Gently lying down next to her so as to not disturb her, he remembers yet again who she is to him: his strength, his peace, his everything. Glancing into that face, all he sees is innocence. Glancing into his heart, all he sees is love. Silences speak yet again, as his eyes soften at the sight of her. The fighter sleeps. Her defenses now finally laid to rest, he can't get enough of her. Her face and hands give away everything she has hidden inside. This is all he needs to know. It is the truth. The calm settles. Arnav Singh Raizada can finally close his own eyes.
Arnav Rekha all but diminished, the morning brings a new Khushi...Her legs wrapped around his body, he senses her before he even sees her...Takes her in again. "Taekwondo Khushi", yes, hilarious, but ultimately so comfortable. In her bed, at peace, and with the man she loves. Today we get a definition for their silence. Why their silences matter: Habit. Aadat. The familiar has now become intrinsic to them. Yes, Khushi knows her Laad Governor--her Arnav-better than anyone else. If he can call her out on how she sleeps, she can also remind him that he can't sleep without that hand slipped in hers; denying it, he is shown the evidence. Pride, ego, all of it aside, finally, the most important "habit" is acknowledged...by both. To Priya's words...Egos Thy Name is Desire...They seek solace in the only being who has ever mattered, and today they finally admitted it to each other. Arnav's goal now to create the aadat for her at the RM!!! And this is the ultimate truth.

The performances were superlative. I have to commend Sobti for being so consistent in his expressions. His emoting in that bedroom scene right as he falls asleep was exactly the same as what we saw in Shantivaanππ...Sanaya seemed to enjoy the office scene throughly. But what is up with that eye-sore of a dress!?π€’ Moving on, I have mixed reactions to the precap. More on that tomorrow, I guess...
Priya, my thoughts and prayers are with all of you! Miss you loads! Love you, hun!!π€π€
InDi, thank you so much; I still can't believe it!π² Beena Di!!!! So well deserved!!! Loved your post yesterday! And SK, you always bring it home!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!π€
