A day after was reported that Sir Ben Kingsley, one of the world's most honoured actors with four Academy Award nominations for his memorable role of Gandhi, might just consider either Aishwarya or Bengali sizzler, Bipasha Basu, or maybe both the Indian beauties for one of his forthcoming films, we have some further development on this front. It's official now and you have heard it here first. It's not Bipasha, but Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who has finally won the rat race and managed to bag the role of Mumtaz Mahal opposite Sir Ben Kingsley.
And guess who Sir Ben is going to play? Shahjahan. And the movie is a million dollar project. Taj Mahal will go on the floors after Sir Ben and his team finish filming Christopher Rush's historical novel Will, which chronicles the death bed meeting between William Shakespeare and his lawyer, as they lay out his final will and testament.
"Sir Ben Kingsley conceived the idea when Taj Mahal was recently crowned as of the 7 wonders of the world and the first choice was obviously Aishwarya Rai. She's simply delighted to bag the role opposite one of her favourite actors," says a source.
This is going to be Ash's second film with Sir Ben Kingsley. The two of them will be seen together in the The Last Legion which is going to be released in UK next month.
