Srikhant would also be a movie I would have voted for...and Maharaja, too. But okay...money to promote the movie may be what really mattered...we'll see if it makes the preselection in US.

They actually submitted Animal for the Oscars? With how misogynistic and problematic it is? There was no way it was gonna get short listed

Haven’t watched Payal Kapadia’s movie. Even if LL may not be the best choice it may be the safest bet. More so considering Lagaan’s Oscar run. A movie set in rural India..adheres to West’s stereotype of India. Is a story of triumph among adversities. Shows women finding their voice and strength. Ticks all the boxes. This is what they want to see..Be it Lagaan or Slumdog.

Plus Aamir is a known face at Oscars and jio has all the money to lobby for it.
