Oh damn😂😂 Too much truth said all at once.
I think the reason for this downfall is the shift in India’s priority as a whole. With the emergence of Social media, Instagram, in particular, everything is about views, visibility and money. Creativity, respect, modesty and talent are no longer considered important. But this is a false notion created by PR firms and social media as a whole. Till how long can someone just eat with the eyes.. Ultimately presentation can make a dish win only until it’s not tasted.
Hrithik Roshan and Abhishek Bacchan both are products of Nepotism but AB stopped doing mainstream movies within 5-7 years of his launch after failing back to back. That is acceptance of the audience’s will. So did likes of Tushar Kapoor, Esha Deol, Zayed Khan, Fardeen Khan, Vivek Oberoi, Akshay Khanna. Their repetitive rejection by audience was respected as withdrawal from the industry. Most of them, mind you were the sons/daughters of actors 100x bigger than a Chunkey panday or Boney kapoor.
But now with the Instagram’s fake idea of “everything can be curated/created” people like KJo are trying hard to push the talentless lot of nepos down the audience’s throat. Most money of BW was spent on paying the PR team of these people than paying talented filmmakers, writers, directors, cinematographers, actors. But BW needs to understand while moments of sensation can be scripted, consistent success which likes of Srk, Salman, Preity zinta, kajol, aamir, juhi chawla etc enjoyed cannot be CREATED. It’s achieved through talent and acceptance. By respecting that a film is made not just by an actor but the whole crew.
SRK did a film Fan, though it flopped but it had the biggest message for any film industry, Love and stardom and success cannot be purchased. It’s won through hardwork, smartwork and destiny. And everyone who participates in a film making process is a part of that destiny and success. A film is never about an actor.
