Kusha Kapila, the popular content creator and actress, has spoken out about her experience on the "Pretty Good Roast Show" by comedian Ashish Solanki. The episode aired in June featured Kusha alongside stand-up comedians like Samay Raina, Gurleen Pannu, Aaditya Kulshreshth, and Shreya Priyam Roy. During the roast, the comedians made dark and harsh jokes about Kusha's divorce from Zorawar Singh Ahluwalia.

In a statement on YouTube, Kusha expressed her disappointment with the roast. She said the jokes were "shockingly unkind" and made her feel "dehumanised." Kusha agreed to the roast in good faith, thinking it would be a friendly event. She admitted that she should have asked for a script of the jokes beforehand, as is common in Western roast formats.

Kusha revealed that she put up with the jokes in front of technicians and a live audience. She did not, however, feel at ease with the jokes being seen by millions of people. She said that since her portion was the first to be taped in January, the following episodes have respected limits, particularly those related to women, and have taken note of her experience.

She also shared why she allowed the episode to air with cuts. Kusha said that she would have faced accusations of cowardice and further trolling if she had stopped the episode from being released. She wanted to avoid more negativity and chose to let the episode go live after numerous negotiations to cut offensive content.

Kusha made it clear that this was her third roast and that she would only take part in another one if she knew what will be covered in advance. She said that although she had liked the earlier roasts, this one went too far for her. Kusha noticed that a lot of the female audience members were offended by the jokes, and she could understand that.

Kusha concluded her statement by stating that she is proud of her ability to handle the roast and perform despite the harsh jokes. She reminded everyone that boundaries are important and should be respected. Looking ahead, Kusha Kapila will star in the Disney+ Hotstar series Life Hill Gayi. The series, directed by Prem Mistry and produced by Aarushi Nishank's Himshrri Films, will be released on August 9.
