They opened it after 31 year? Why? Now Hindus are not suffering? Where are the people who were screaming through their lungs in the other thread?

Floods have happened even in Tripura, with so far at least 34000 diplaced and death reported.

"While areas like Dharmanagar in North Tripura, Kailashahar, Kumarghat in Unakoti district, Kamalpur, Longtraivalley and Gandacherra in Dhalai district, Bishalgarh and Sonamura in Sepahijala, Teliamura and Khowai in Khowai district, Udaipur, Karbook and Amarpur in Gomati district, Sabroom, Belonia, Santirbazaar in South Tripura district and extensive areas of Sadar and Jirania sub-division in West Tripura district including Agartala city saw extensive waterlogging and flood-like situation, rescue teams continue to work round the clock to rescue people from vulnerable areas as water level in most rivers of the state were flowing above danger, critical or even expected flood level in different locations."

India didn't open the gates of the dam. The reservoir holding capacity was upto 94 meters (it should be feet though) beyond which it has overflown.

"We would like to point out that the catchment areas of Gumti river that flows through India and Bangladesh have witnessed heaviest rains of this year over the last few days.

The flood in Bangladesh is primarily due to waters from these large catchments downstream of the dam.

The Dumbur dam is located quite far from the border - over 120 Km upstream of Bangladesh. It is a low height (about 30m) dam that generates power that feeds into a grid and from which Bangladesh also draws 40MW power from Tripura.

Amarpur station is in part of a bilateral protocol under which we are transmitting realtime flood data to Bangladesh.

Data showing rising trend has been supplied to Bangladesh upto 1500 hrs on 21 August 2024. At 1800 hrs, due to flooding, there was power outage leading to problems of communication. Still, we have tried to maintain communication through other means created for urgent transmission of data."

In India, some places get flooded just by few hrs of heavy rains.

In Mumbai, on 26th July 2025, just by few hrs of rains, the city was flooded, affecting many people. Trains were closed, most of the roads were closed, due to water logging. Lots of people were walking throughout the night, to reach home. We all were walking in the middle of the road among flooded roads. Walking on side was risky.

Many parts of India gets heavy rains. Cloud bursting is another reason for flood in just few mins. In any case Govt is not blamed for such rains. Priority should be to help affected ones, instead of blaming & protesting.

Social media par galat news phaila dete hain. smiley44smiley3smiley13

When the water is overflowing from the dam it is because of excessive rainfall . It’s a natural calamity , Instead of blaming eachother instigating people against their neighbouring country we should join hands n pool resources to help the people affected .
