Dear Members,

We are thrilled to announce a major update to our forum – the redesigned "Create New Topic" page! Our goal with this update is to provide you with a streamlined and user-friendly experience when creating new topics.

What’s New?

  1. Single Page for All Topic Types: You can now create different types of topics – Discussion, Poll, Question, and Vote Up – all from a single page. This makes it easier and faster to start new conversations and engage with the community.

  2. Enhanced User Interface: The new design is clean, organized, and easy to navigate. Essential fields like Subject and Message are prominently displayed, ensuring you provide all necessary information for your topic.

  3. Improved Tag Buddies: We redesigned that page also and now it shows User's Group and Level and layout is similar to other pages. This feature helps in notifying relevant members and increasing engagement.

  4. Rearranged additional options:

    • Members Only: Restrict the visibility of your topic to members only.
    • Matured Content: Flag content as mature if necessary.
    • Show Signature: Choose to include your signature in the post.
    • Add to Watch List: Get reply notifications for topics you create.
    • Add to My Wall: Share the topic on your wall for your friends to see.

How to Use the New Page:

  1. Select the topic type (Discussion, Poll, Question, Vote Up).
  2. Fill in the required fields (Subject and Message).
  3. Choose any additional options you need.
  4. Select the appropriate flair for your topic.
  5. Tag any relevant users to notify them.
  6. Add tags to make your topic easier to find.
  7. Click "Submit" to post your topic or "Save Draft" to continue later.

Forum Guidelines: Please take a moment to review the forum guidelines located on the right side of the page. Following these guidelines helps maintain a respectful and engaging community.

We hope you enjoy the new design and find it helpful. If you have any questions or feedback, feel free to share them with us.

Happy posting!

Thank you for this improved feature dear Vijay . Your technical team deserves appreciation for working behind the scenes, all the time . smiley27smiley32

All the aspects of posting new thread is compiled on one page smiley20.Having the guidelines in the same visible space is very good idea. No one can now say they were not warned about +1 posts . smiley36

I request if the “discussion “ can be made default option unless member voluntarily makes a choice of the other options .smiley24

The feature is live already smiley42

India Forums believes in keeping us on our toes. Just when I finally get the hang of the new interface and try to get used to the existing changes, kuch naya aa jata hai, lol.

But feature is good 👍, so chalega smiley36

Can you explain more about members only. Isn’t it the same as matured content?

Sorry but not a good move. Yeah it is benefical for IF team but not for us because It's not possible to write 5+ words in every post. For example if someone wishes us on our birthday or congratulates us on winning any game, in return we simply can't say Thank you but we have to write a whole thank you note.

Also while voting for banners or other stuff we just can't write banner numbers but we have to write a long essay on those banners.

If it's just "Thank you," you can use the reaction option for the post instead.

Writing a minimum of 5 words ensures that interactions are more meaningful and engaging. While it might feel like a small inconvenience, this change aims to improve the quality of discussions on the forum. We appreciate your feedback and will continue to look for ways to balance convenience with quality.

Members only posts are visible to only those members who have logged into IF .

Those who are browsing without logging in will not be able to see the content . Also members only posts can NOT be quoted by anybody .

Good feature Vijay, especially the one which reminds us to post at least 5 words to make the comment worthwhile.smiley32

In fact I have been consciously trying to make my posts at least 9 words long for a while.

I like it.

Cheers..
