Part 63

Maan takes out his marriage certificate document and hands it over.

M - We got married last year.

The father's hand shakes and he drops the certificate on the ground.

Maan pickes it up and brushes off the dirt on it.

M - You beat her up for being married to me.

The parents try to explain immediately…at the same time Ayeshaaming Geet for not telling that she is the legitimate wife and staying mum.

M - Would you have believed her?

The family falls silent... they wouldn't have.

M- It's my fault for not informing you last year. But it doesn't give you excuse to beat her up. And now I want you all to stop calling her. Whatever love and respect she has for you all. If you still want it, then stay in your limits and stay away. If you still want to use her to get to me... you will be very sorry once it happens. You don't want to deal with me.

The parents feel threatened and afraid but... this is already their son in law and the kids should obviously fulfill their duty to take care of parents and help out their siblings.

The family argues the same logic and mix in some threat that they would expose the truth to the world... it won't be possibl for their daughter to continue her celebrity career then blah blah...

M - Go ahead. Then she can come and work in my office as the CEO, VP or even the President. She is quite capable. I would prefer her to be closer. Do you want me to give you contact for good publicity magazines?

The family is dumbfounded... seems like they had no leverage other than familial relationship and that too have turned sour.

M - One last thing I want to say. If one day you all turn stupid and try to physically harm her again... I will personally, with these hands hurt you back 100 times and I don't care if its male, female, old young.

Maan walked out slamming the door shut so hard that the hinges creak.

He takes the long route walking back to the car.

When he finally gets inside, his mood had stabilized.

M - All done! Let's go now.

G - What happened inside?

He tells her the gist and also tells her to not worry anymore. If people know they know.

Geet is surprised that her family members could be dealt with in such a way so easily... maybe she is a fool... Trying to be cool and independent by hiding the fact that he is supporting her...

Anyways being called a gold digger or sugar baby... It certainly sounded much more appealing than being called a gold digger+housebreaker+thirrdparty+mistress

She couldn't understand Why was her image so messed up??!

But she lets it go as it was a happy moment and she didn’t want her bad thoughts to ruin everything.

Maan drops her home and goes.

But her overthinking mind won’t stop

After tossing for hours on her bed and replaying scenarios in her head she calls Maan as her trauma response kick in.

G- Why are you doing this?

M- ??

G- Why are you doing this for ME?

M-....

G- You married me bcoz....it’s a contract....you...think if me as a dishonest cunning gold digger sugar baby.... you told me when we met... after that as well....maybe i am...

She her face in her palm.

G- I am despicable.

Maan is silent, he doesn’t know what to say.

She is waiting for his response.

After few moments of silence, he takes a deep breath.

M- You wanna go out with me?

G- Huh?

Now both are gain silent one is shocked another waiting for a response.

She speaks up after few moments.

G- Okay. But where?

M- Well…. i did my studies in a boarding school. So friends from there. We are going for a vacation. Will you come?

G- I will think about it.

M- Okay.

G- Good night.

M- Good night then.

For the next few days Maan puts in a few extra hours at work.

Firstly, he had to deal with the backlog items accumulated from when he was away.

And secondly his friends were all meeting up and he wanted to bring Geet on a small vacation to meet these people.

He had already informed her.

At first, she wasn't very keen on accompanying him on his trip.

She wasn't sure if she would fit in and she didn't want to be dead weight killjoy during his friends get together trip.

But Maan insisted that it would be fun for her and that he wants to introduce her to everyone.

As for fitting in. He told her she didn't have to. If she doesn't like someone, she doesn't need to get along with them.

Geet had already met one of his friends... and she felt he was a nice person... so maybe of others are like him. She will be fine.

She agreed to go with him, but she wasn't sure whether it would be fun.

As usual when she asked Maan what all she needs to prepare, his reply was completely lacking in detail.

M - I guess your passport... nothing much. We can buy whatever we need there.

She rubbed her head.

She still remembers how he had said similar words last year before going to his ancestral home.

Imagine if she hadn't packed anything. What would she have worn for all the celebrations and meeting the elders!!

This dense man!

G - You tell me where we are going. What we will be doing.

M - Hmm.. it's a resort on the bigger side... activities... Let's see... there are adventure activities, water sports, beach swimming pool, outdoor sports, race tracks horse tracks ... casino... .spa.. screening hall...

The usual stuff. You can do whatever you want or just laze around in the restaurant. Upto you.

G - ... this is usual resort?

M - Isn't it?

G - No. I know what all I need to prepare.

M - What?

G - At least 3 suitcases!

M - Really? But they have shops you can buy from there. Why lug around so much?

G - If I buy from there, it will be: 1. Overpriced 2. Lack of options 3. I may not have enough time to buy on the fly 4. Most important, I like to be prepared and not run around at the last minute.

M - So it's like 1 suitcase for a day?

G - You won't understand. Don't disturb me now. I have to make list and shop and pack. Do you need to pack anything for you?

M -Sure. You pack whatever you think I won't bring.

G - Will you bring anything other than your passport?

M - Swimming trunks and wallet.

She rolls her eyes.

G- That’s why I am taking 3 suitcases. Ask your assistant to pack your luggage. He would be used to it anyways.

Geet disregarded any further backtalk from Maan and got busy.

They go to the airport for an early morning flight.

Geet is dressed comfortably but stylishly with a face mask hiding her face from recognition.

They arrive at the destination city and then it was another 1 hr ride.to the resort.

Since the resort was so big and almost everyone (all friends) was arriving at same time. There was bit of rush and crowd.at the main reception.

Maan told Geet to check them in. He would take care of getting the luggage and the parking sorted out.

From the moment Geet arrived at the reception hall she was immediately noticed by people and slowly everyone stopped talking.

By the time she reached the reception desk there was pin drop silence and when said that she wants to check in for Mr Maan Khurana + 1 there were quite a number of gasps.

Geet looked around and quickly thought about her current identity situation.

The upper business circle most people know she is Maan's legal wedded wife. although those people family may not know.

Maan's family knows about her marital status.

Her parents know.

Most of her fans and common people don't know she is married and don't know about the rumor that she is Maan's mistress.

That leaves some stupid people in the entertainment industry and apparently quite a lot of Maan's friends who believe in the mistress rumor.

She ignored the gasps. Anyways it will be cleared up soon, she doesn't have to mind their reaction.

As Geet waited for the receptionist to check them in slowly people started and buzzing and whispering... she could hear the occasional

'Wow she really is here’!

'shameless'

'How dare Maan bring her here!'

Geet continued to ignore them until a group of self-righteous looking people came over to her.

P1- Miss perhaps you are not aware that this is a friends and family get-together. People like you aren't really going to fit in the atmosphere.

P2- We brought out kids here. We don't want your morals negatively impacting our children.

P3- We will talk to Maan. He shouldn't have brought you here in the first place.

P4- It's best you leave right now. Before any more nasty words are said.

The group acted like moral police and lectured her loudly without letting her get in a word sideways.

At that moment a stylishly dressed beautiful woman walked up to them with her own posse of friends.

The original group also calmed down as this new woman came. Clearly, she was a crowd favorite.

Geet maintained a calm unruffled air and also covertly checked upon the newly arrived group leader lady.

Ayesha- All of you calm down c'mon, be nice. Miss Geet nice to meet you, I am Ayesha Kharbanda, heir of Kharbanda group of course. Just ignore them all, they don't understand that love is such a pure thing. Societal rules cannot stop people from falling in love even to people of your strata.

She extended her hand in greeting.

Geet looked down at the extended hand and ignored it.

G - I think these moral police crowd is already pretty good. Much better than someone who openly supports mistresses and marriage infidelity.

Everyone is shocked at Geet's attitude and her reply.

Some even believe they have met with a lunatic.

While the more intelligent ones instantly understand that Geet is not a mistress at all.

By this time Maan also walks in and sees the crowd around Geet.

Since they are his friends and family. He simply thought they were keeping her company whole time he was away.

M - I see you all already met my wife, Geet . Thanks for keeping her company.

Casually standing close to Geet he asks

M - Are we checked in?

Geet doesn't complain about the mean things these people had just said to her and asked the receptionist to hurry up.

The crowd was reeling from the big reveal.

Ayesha walks up to Maan, gives him a hug and air kisses

A-oh you are here finally!!

Geet silently observed as Ayesha cozied up to Maan.

What can she say...

These kisses seem like usual behavior for these people... But the haughty look Ayesha gave her was nothing usual.

Geet had a bad feeling brewing at the pit of her stomach.

While Geet tried to act nonchalant and observe intimate greetings covertly the receptionist spoke up

R- I am sorry madam ... there seems to be a mix up... we only have twin rooms left (single room with 2 separate single beds in it)

M - What?( Depressed)

G- Huh?( Shocked)

A -Oh no what a mess (fake sad)

M - There has to be something else. Check again.

G - Yeah!! What do you mean twin room? What about suite with at least 2 rooms??

Geet looks at Maan suspiciously... Ki all along was this your plan?!!

Well here I really appreciate that Maan was dealing with Geets family to make them understand what they have done ... But still they were not ready to understand then Maan used his final warning which made them scared

Geet was feeling bit uneasy after such things so Maan decided her to take her out for a vacation with his friends which made her feel bit better

This new character Aisha seems to be bit interesting one & Geet is getting bit pissed off with her ... Even rooms were messed up

Fabulous and Vibrant Update

Oh Maan handled Geet's family so well

while now he ask Geet if she wants to go out with him

she agrees and he tells her they will be going to a resort

at the resort people seeing Geet started taunting her , telling that they came

with their children

while Maan makes his entrance and tells the reception he needs a room for him and his wife

Ayesha seems to be a friendly but also maybe flirty woman
