Okie now that is actually and officially SRK’s birthday in his and my time zone
Dear Shahrukh,
Wishing you the happiest of birthdays, lots of love, and joys for a lifetime. I grew up watching your movies and especially fell in love with movies like Darr, Koyla, Bazigar, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, Duplicate and many more.
I used to imitate you in a desperate attempt to be popular with the ladies . I remember watching Main Hoon Na a million times while I was in middle school … and I had to imitate (technically Zayed’s move, but you also did it) that one gesture where you put your hand behind your head, and then swing it out full of swag.
So you could imagine a (how old are you in American middle school? Like 13?) 13 year old walking around and doing this every 5 seconds.
Did I look like an idiot? Yes.
Did it make me popular with the ladies? No.
Did I ever try to do your signature slow-arm-raise come hug me move? Uhm. I think I did it once for a girl, but lord knows my memory is worse than cottage cheese. So we don’t talk about Bruno.
But it’s okay. Here we are a few decades later LMAO… and I don’t do the move because I grew out of that phase. And it was actually weird AF. What was the point of sharing that again? Oh right. Your impact on my childhood.
Anyway, I have a new goal in life (sorry can’t tell you because it relates to you, but it has to do with a katora). We gonna figure it out.
All that said - once again I wish you a splendid birthday filled with lots of love and joyous moments. Thank you for everything you do for people, for touching their lives with your charm, and for always staying humble and grounded.
Lots of Love,
Shyaaaamm
