same is opposite, in prev case there were support rallies, hashtags , conspiracy theories because people were from majority religion and crime was done due to political and religious reason and to instill fear in a minority tribal community .
This case is being outraged with adding unconfirmed rape because murderer is from minority community even though there are no support rallies, no hastags to support and there was no religious or political movies behind murder, it was due to a loan money .
If unconfirmed rape was not added (with mutilated organs) , will the crime be less heinous?
If the motive is not religious, will the crime be less heinous?
I will cut and paste what I said during Katua time, an year ago. ( https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/topic/4977063?pn=2&pc=146823662 )
.. As far as I know, protests were for CBI enquiry. I have also realised, local people do have frictions with the community of the girl (they are not just Muslims, but nomadic backward Muslims who are classified as ST. This group is certainly vulnerable in our society). But the protest was not for the defence of rapists, but for CBI enquiry. (The one appointed by state government himself was accused of similar crime and has come out of jail).
What does agenda driven campaigns achieve? Instead of these, can we not focus (together) on the the girl and getting her justice?

Yes. It does have religious angle. Sometimes rapes have casteist angle (on Dalits). Sometimes they have regional angle (migrant workers from other states).
End of the day, a rape is a rape is a rape. Men cannot use women as the tools for their anger. That has to be the bottom line.
But the agenda driven campaign is taking the focus farther and farther away from the girl.
First mistake was done by Mehbooba's (Kashmir CM) government, who appointed a tainted person for the SIT probe, who himself had allegations of raping a Hindu girl and murdering her brother and who was in jail for four years. ( http://www.tribuneindia.com/news/jammu-kashmir/kathua-case-bjp-questions-tainted-officer-s-role-in-probe/570242.html ). This man happens to be close to Gilani, who blows up every issue as Indian's atrocities on Kashmiris to get international attention to Kashmir issue.
Next was Barkha, who converted the protests for CBI enquiry to "Nationalists supporting the rapists of a girl".
Now issue turns into, "Minorities are not safe in India", "Kashmiris are oppressed".. etc.. Are these people really concerned about getting justice to the girl?
"India needs to be shamed" "Indian government needs to be shamed" .. Where is the girl in this picture?
