He always loved Saba and everyone knew it but it was that platonic kind of love. It never became anything more because for him Saba was that little spoiled cousin whom he loved to bits. In the end, he never said that they were soul mates but he admitted that he could never get out that 7 year difference out from his mind which is why he was never able to see her in that way. He admitted that he had always loved her in his own way but it was after her divorce that he realised the depth of his own feelings. It took him a long time to finally see her in that way. He admitted that he fell in love with Saman because she was so perfect in every way. He fell in love because of her qualities but with Saba he didn't care if she was good or bad right or wrong. He loved her just for being Saba. Saba was not perfect like Saman but she was Saba and that was enough for Irtiza.
