I kind of have to disagre with you here. Its not the lack of aggression. In fact I think we should have more male characters who don't perpetuate this awful image of masculinity with over-aggressive men dragging and abusing the women in their lives.
All Danish had to do was close the door after Mehwish left with shahwar. No aggression needed for him to show some self respect.
I get they've been married for a long time and there will be feelings. I don't blame him for still being in love with her, even tho I find it hard to understand myself. But marriage isn't a unilateral decision. You can't force someone to stay married to you. And I know it may seem hard but the man needs to let her leave.
I wonder if the pacing of the episode makes a difference in how some people feel about this compared to others. The episode literally focused on one day. And the actors did a great job but given there's also no other characters maybe the focus on the situation was prolonged.
But that is what is doing ...he has not once told her to change her decision or emotionally blackmail her using Rumi
But this is a guy who is madly in love with his wife ...and had no social life because he revolved his life around her...so letting her go like that is no way easy for him ..
We could call him weak if he had made an attempt to stop her even after knowing what she has been up to..
