TDKKH 17:
"But they plan. And Allah plans and He is the best of planners. Surah Anfal
Today's episode reminded me of the above verse from the Quran more than once. Whenever things don't go my way, I remind myself that it's still going the way Allh has planned for me and it's the best for me even though I may not be able to appreciate it. There were many scenes for instance, the ones between Faris and Lubna, Faris and Saif, and the one with Saif and his friend; all evoked the strong feeling that everything happens for a reason and the belief in "blessing in disguise. Especially, the scene between Saif and his friend was very meaningful, significant, and had a religious connotation, which was a pleasant surprise! When the friend says, this was all Allh's plan and that you actually did him a favor by having an affair with Maya, it immediately thought of another verse of the Quran that "He will give you something better than what was taken from you, and indeed, how true that is in Faris's case. He is given not one, but three to choose from!
The highlight of the episode was Faris and Lubna's relationship and to be honest, I loved their chemistry and I am happy that Faris has Lubna to fill in for Dariya as a friend. The way their bond strengthened from strangers to friends was shown beautifully. I saw Faris happy after a long time! I especially liked how Faris had a simple answer for Lubna: that "I let Maya go because she wanted to; it was a profound statement, why fight to keep something that doesn't want to be with you or belong to you? It showed a side of Faris that I had never seen before. In the initial episodes, he was devastated (rightly so), and this frank, honest statement showed how far along he has come! This is the exact moment I was waiting for: when he has truly, definitely moved on!
Imran Ashraf and Ayeza's two scenes were absolutely amazing! Tipu wanted to make sure that Zoya is jealous to make her realize that she also loves Faris (and he succeeded -partially). I was critical of Ayeza's outfit in the last episode, but she redeemed herself this time. Her outfit was chic, stylish and something that I would totally wear (actually I own a very similar outfit). Oh, which reminds me, why did Faris NOT answer Zoya's text right away? Ok I get it, he was driving, but he should have texted her back as soon as he got home! That is so not nice!
In my opinion, despite some amazing performances, Faris and Lubna took the cake in this episode! Hajira Yamin was awesome in all her scenes, I absolutely love Lubna' personality and the way she has translated it on screen! Lubna actually kinda reminds me of myself (personality wise). Sami Khan was brilliant as usual, he has made breathed life into his character; I absolutely loved Faris's connection with Lubna today and was thrilled to see a happy, smiling Faris for the first time ever!
Faris: keep smiling, because it's Sunnah!
