Niroop : "RR would dearly love to get on the field today evening if it's a reduced match. They wouldn't want to go into playoffs with 4 consecutive losses and no match practise against a red hot RCB"

NRR determines that, which is why if there's anything other than an RR victory, Q1 will be KKR vs SRH and Eliminator will be RR vs RCB

Also, despite being a primary KKR supporter, rooting for RR today. If KKR meet SRH in Q1, chances of losing & being sent to Q2 are high, and then they could run up against RCB. It's more advantageous to play RR in Q1, and then sit pretty at the top, and just wait for the other finalist

but what guarantee that kkr will win against RR? In Q1

Dinu: "The situation reminds everyone of yesterday's true hero… the drainage system at KSCA " Yeah, and luck. I stay around 3 kilometres away from the stadium and it was pelting there till about 9:30pm.

The entire ground is nearly covered now. Unfortunately, it continues to pour in Guwahati.

There's still a slight drizzle. Almost the entire ground is still under cover, just a small block at the edge (square of the pitch) has been peeled off. No real progress yet.

Nothing is a guarantee, but one looks at the likelihoods, and the trends behind the sides:

  • RR has lost 4 games in a row, while SRH has won 2 of their last 3, 3 of their last 5 & so on. They are higher on confidence
  • RR has had a major loss w/ Butler, just like KKR has w/ Salt. SRH has lost nobody, since they don't have any England players
  • Like SRH, RCB too is at the top of their confidence. If KKR lose a game against SRH, it'll be tough to face down RCB as well
  • As a result, KKR's best chances of winning Q1 is if RR is their opponent

"Still raining but the intensity has gone down enough for the groundsmen to start peeling away covers on either side of the square," updates Pratyush.
