Mayank Agarwal received a flying kiss from Harshit Rana. That's how most SRH fans would like to remember, as the contest saw both teams pushed into a nervy corner for most parts of the game. In the end, when SRH had a mountain to climb in the last 4 overs, Klaasen went berserk and nearly pulled off the chase for his side. Inexperienced and under pressure, Harshit Rana didn't panic as he bowled a splendid final over to help his side get off to a winning start to the season. It was that victory that started KKR's rise and they barely looked back after that, with 9 wins from 14 games (2 were washed out).

😂😂

Today, Mayank Agarwal is probably not playing. Therefore, Harshit Rana has no one to kiss, & can therefore avoid a ban next match, be it the final or Q2 smiley15

Pitch and dimensions: The outfield is green and lush. The square boundaries are 63 metres each while it is 70 metres down the ground. The pitch looks a touch dry. Will suit bowlers who will use the off-pace deliveries. In some areas, around the good length, there's a bit of moisture, but it is hard. The power-hitters will play a major role here, looks like a good batting wicket. Won't spin much, reckons Matthew Hayden.

What about the bowling then? KKR's spinners - Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy - can be hugely influential. But as Monga wrote in the tactics board, they will need control and different plans for each opener. Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins are having a chat as I type, they seem to be in a good mood. Both of them will have a big role to play, if Starc finds swing or the chance to bowl to the tail, he can be devastating. And who can forget what Cummins did at this ground in the ODI World Cup final last year?

Eric: "i think a higher scoring game favors sunrisers especially with salt gone. a lower scoring (particularly spin friendly) track then definitely advantage kkr because their spin attack is way superior"

Pavan: "Is it a red or a black soil pitch?" It is an unknown going in, pitch report is expected to be telecast in about 10-15 minutes. Expecting a mixed-soil pitch though.

Rohit Sharma: "I want a KKR-RCB final. Kohli vs Gauti "

And the big man is out. Andre Russell shadow bats for a couple of seconds and sizes up the boundaries - which no doubt will be too small even if he half-connects. He's still in superhero mode the most of himself despite his age, let's see if he plays a big part today with the ball. Lol just saw Shreyas Iyer loosening up by bowling a bit, looked like he was mimicking Sunil Narine's action.

Ashish: "Ahmedabad is going to provide a slow burner. So don't expect 400-500 match aggregate. Even in night the humidity is a lot as I recently travelled there."

Tinkerbell: "any chances of rain?" Thankfully, no. However, there has been 'Excessive heat,' as Google put it, and the players will be happy that this is a night game. By the way, the people are entering in huge numbers close to the gates and counters. There is a smattering of folks in the stands under the setting sun.

Matthew: ""Hopefully a 500 run game" Have to disagree with that Ekanth, I'd rather see a real tussle between bat and ball, and a 160-170 chase that comes down to the final few balls. Much more interesting IMO."
