A wig on a balding man makes a huge difference for sure. As for make up, actors definitely wear foundation on camera while shooting. But off camera too? Because women do it all on set or off set; foundation, powder, concealer, color correction, and last but not least contouring.

At events they do. I am pretty sure SRK used to wear lipstick to cover his dark smoking stained lips. Some get their eyebrows filled in with an eyebrow pencil. It is just makeup done in a more masculine way that is less noticeable. As men are supposed to still give the illusion of no makeup.

I think Alia was not well groomed when she started but I do think she is objectively pretty now; like Karisma. She lacks the height, but she has the cute dimple and a sparkle in her eyes. Pretty girl. Not GORGEOUS but she's cute and pretty.

Vicky is an example of a guy who is not classically handsome but if he grooms himself can look very good and hot, coupled with a great personality and height. Take away the facial hair and let him grow out his hair, he's strictly average. In fact a few days ago, weren't there so many pictures of him out where people were commenting on how bad he looks?

Vicky does have a lot more fans of the opposite sex than Aloo ever has. That is just an objective fact. I can not bring reddit and pinkvilla post here. And some may say this proves nothing. But you will never find videos of Aloo like this.

You can say his female fan following peaked during URI times. But it started with him playing the character of Iqbal. The male character written through a female gaze. In the eyes of all women, Iqbal was the perfect husband, perfect lover, and just the perfect man.

I do not think he is out of this-world attractive. But I do not think he is as unattractive as this Kapoor lad bias forum makes him out to be. Yes, he looks bad ungroomed when he is not taking care of himself. But don't we all?

Of course, one does not have to be conventionally attractive to attract a female fan following. It has a lot to do with the characters you play and how well they were written. Shahrukh Khan would be the best example. Not sure if the same holds true for the opposite sex.

Vicky is hot but the beard has to go. It looks disgusting. And he needs to work on the way he speaks. He talks like a child. Other than people who make crass classist comparisons to 'truck drivers' etc I've never seen anyone calling him ugly.

Alia isn't seen as a top heroine because of her looks. It's a bit of acting and a bit of PR. She looks cute. Can be pretty with lots of eye make up and the right hairstyle on. She seems to be quite comfortable in her skin. The body language. Which can go a long way.

Vicky is handsome. He is not objectively beautiful though but a very few heroes are. I did not like his look in Bad News. He looked unkempt which is a huge turn off

Other factors at play are also KJo’s marketing, and PR, which has really elevated Alia in every way. And women have the advantage of make up, and there’s hair styling too. Women are seen more glammed up than men so Alia has that advantage too over Vicky.

Vicky is not classically handsome but he is attractive. Alia is not gorgeous but she has a cute face.

I think it has got more to do with Vicky’s facial features than his skin color, not everything is about dark skin IMO, but then again I can’t speak for everyone else. I am all for handsome dark broody men, but Vicky is very average looking IMO, but if groomed well, and with a toned body and that height, he is capable of looking very attractive, like how he is looking now a days. I believe no one in BW is always handsome/beautiful, especially with the cosmetic surgeries most of them opt for, it’s just how they carry themselves and how much confidence they have in themselves, and most importantly, looks are subjective.

Lmao, you're really reaching here, trying to compare things that aren't even comparable. Alia has proven herself at the box office and with critics multiple times. She’s got the biggest brands and directors in her corner for a reason. Her beauty is secondary to all she's achieved. Vicky is getting there too. Bad looks have never stopped a male hero from becoming a superstar; there are plenty of examples. In fact, good looks can sometimes get in the way. With Good Newz being a hit, he's going to land bigger projects now. The films that were once reserved for Ranveer will probably go to him.
