True nepotism has always been around. But at the end of the day the nepo kids had to have talent and presence to make it in Bollywood. If they didn’t, they flopped.
What’s happening now is that Karan is operating as a monopoly, using all the tricks of the trade to promote talentless nepo kids. He becomes their godfather and mentor and unleashes a blitzkrieg of marketing and promotion to make the public aware of these nepo kids, they get endorsements even though they have no body of work. He is choosing to promote mostly the kids of his friends from the industry coz that’s where his loyalty is and he is mooching off the film industry coz there’s always curiosity and interest in the kids of established film stars. Karan will always stay relevant in the film industry, he is way too smart, wields enormous power and influence and knows exactly what he needs to do to hold on to it.
Btw did he stop making movies with SRK coz he would be too pricey to work with?
