She doesn't have big booms or curvy chips. She isn't what we call conventionally hot.

Being pretty with make up only isnt going to help.

She's not that beautiful imo. She looks plain jane without makeup, and even with it, she looks normally beautiful. Nothing striking. I always found something problematic with her forehead and lips. Katrina was very active at that time, and we know who men drooled over at that time.

Acting wise too she was just average. Katrina had looks + mass appeal, Vidya had acting talent + sensible movie choice, Deepika had mass appeal and decent acting talent, PC and KK were all-rounders.

She's not bad but doesn't excel in anything.

I must be the only person who liked Ayesha. I get why people dislike her , I like her though . Another person with the same personality would have totally put me off. She's spoilt and unapologetic about it ,and that spills into the characters she plays because she's not a good actress so I can see why she didn't become that popular. There's something abt her that's endearing ( to me) so I forgive the other stuff including the awful dancing xD. She's a well-meaning asshole.

She is horrible on screen and is self proclaimed fashionista.

When u have daddy's money u will wear dresses from big designer. How does it make some one fashion icon.

i remember watching this in 2009. Anil was overjoyed that is performing at IIFA and cheered proudly.

Afterwards when Anushka Sharma came for her performance ( Debut in Rab ne banedi Jodi) she was just outstanding and the crowd was cheering for her so well--then they showed Anil's close up. It was clear that he could see this is the real deal-she was just fantastic !

What you listed as ++ I would see as a disfavour:

1) very beautiful actresses struggle the most to be taken seriously, get meaty roles and maintain longevity. Katrina is still not considered a serious actress to this date and never will be. The only way to do so is to have excellent acting skills + chose a very bold/drastic role (usually playing someone “ugly”, psychopathic, etc the way Halle Berry and Charlize Theron did). 2) Nepotism opens a lot of doors, make things easy at the start but doesn’t guarantee longevity or audience love. 3) Style icon: her style is not relatable like Kareena etc. She is wayyy too haute couture, no one but the likes of Blair Waldorf’s of India could relate to her. She is so not relatable. She couldn’t be more different than Deepika: Deepika was privileged but came from a sporty, hardworking family, she had to work hard to be taken seriously and her low IQ/EQ makes her more relatable.

Things going in her favour:

1. She's beautiful

2. Nepotism

3. Style icon

Things going against her:

1. She was pitted against Deepika, who always had an upper hand in terms of acting

2. She's an average actress, who shines in limited roles

Frankly, Sonam is a better actress than some who've "made it".

Why did the audience not warm upto her?
