Arshad Warsi in new comedy film
Arshad Warsi, who has just given a critically acclaimed performance in his latest film Ishiya, is very happy with the way his career is developing.
"I think today, everyone knows me by my films. They love me, my characters. So, I have no regrets about doing multi-starrer films at all," says Arshad.
Sources close to Arshad inform us that he has signed a new film. "Arshad has lots of offers. Recently, he signed an action comedy called Akkad. The rest of the star cast is yet not finalized, so Arshad has not told us who the director is," the source said, "But he was saying that the script attracted him, and if everything worked out properly, it would make for quite a good film."
When asked about Akkad, Arshad said, "Who told you? Anyway, when the correct time comes, I will let you know whether I am doing this film or not and with whom."
Arshad has become a bigger and bigger draw over the years with hits like Munnabhai, Golmaal and Ishqiya, and is now said to be hiking his rates to a rumoured Rs. 3 crore. When asked about that, he says, "I don't know why people have to think about my rates. Everyone works to earn money, and it's not that I am not doing well to get a promotion."
Talking about his attitude to his work, he says: "I am a very lazy star. I don't do rehearsals or read much compared to my co-stars. I don't even do research on my character, frankly speaking. I am a decent actor and I take my job very seriously, but I sketch the character in my mind: how he will be? And that's how I work. But I make sure I am giving my characters 100 per cent."
Arshad is currently working for his own film Hum Tum Aur Ghost. "We are still shooting for the film, and as a producer, I am working very hard. It's not at all an easy job, I must say," says Arshad.
