Vivek Oberoi is indulging in comedy in a big way. Besides his forthcoming films like Home Delivery and Pyare Mohan, Vivek is part of a third comedy Deewane Huey Pagal where he plays the sutradhar (narrator). Deewane Huey Pagal opens next week, and has him sing an entire number composed by Anu Malik. This will mark Vivek's debut as a singer.
The long narrative song was originally sung by Malik himself but the producers thought it would be far more attractive if Vivek did the needful. Although, not a singer Vivek decided to give it a try.
"I enjoyed the entire experience," says Vivek. "I'm not really a singer. I did it mainly because the producer Sajid Nadiadwala is like family to me. His family and mine go back a long way. My dad (Suresh Oberoi) has done a lot of films with the Nadiadwalas. And if all goes, well, I'd soon be doing a film with Sajid soon. In the meantime there's the narrator and the song that I've done in Deewane Huey Paagal."
Incidentally, Vivek's sister tried her hand at singing in Indra Kumar's Masti.
