Bollywood actor Vidyut Jammwal was allegedly accused of smashing a bottle on a Juhu resident’s head. According to the reports from ANI the Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Bandra, on Monday, acquitted Vidyut Jammwal from a 2007 assault case.
For the unversed, according to the reports from Mumbai Mirror, during the intervening night of August 31 and September 1, 2007, Vidyut was partying with friends at the Grand Hyatt hotel.
However, while leaving the hotel, Jamwal got in a fight with Rahul Suri, a Juhu-based businessman who pushed one of Vidyut Jamwal's friend that led to a fight. It is also reported that Vidyut's friend Harishnath Goswami hit a glass bottle on Suri's head. Goswami was immediately arrested but in a statement made to the police, Suri mentioned that Vidyut Jamwal had also assaulted him.
The police mentioned that there was no other witness to the incident. They relied on the statement of a friend of Goswami to show their presence at the scene.
The actor is currently working on his third installment from the Commando franchise. The film is being directed by Aditya Datt, which also features Adah Sharma, Angira Dhar and Gulshan Devaiah in pivotal roles, among others. The film is scheduled to hit the screens on September 6 this year. The self-made star made his debut with the John Abraham-starrer Force.
