Sunny Deol, who plays the iconic character Tara Singh, expressed his excitement about the re-release. He said, “Gadar 2 is a film that has, and always will have, a special place in my heart. It’s overwhelming to see the continued love and support from audiences even a year after its release. This re-release with Indian Sign Language interpretation will allow the film to touch the hearts of even more audiences this time.”
Ameesha Patel, who returns as Sakina, also shared her thoughts on the re-release. She said, “Being a part of the Gadar films has been an incredible journey for me. It feels great to bring Sakina’s story back to the big screen for a special audience that doesn’t get enough opportunities to fully enjoy cinema. I hope this initiative will inspire other filmmakers to make cinema more inclusive and accessible.”
Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel's blockbuster film Gadar 2 is making a special return to theatres on August 4, marking its first anniversary. This re-release is set to be a memorable event as it will feature Indian Sign Language (ISL) interpretation, making the film more accessible to Deaf audiences.
Gadar 2 was a major hit in 2023, becoming one of the highest-grossing Hindi movies of all time. It won hearts across the nation with its gripping story and powerful performances. To celebrate its success and reach out to a broader audience, the film will be shown at select PVR cinemas across India with ISL interpretation.
Alok Kejriwal, founder and CEO of ISH News, expressed his gratitude for the understanding and empathy towards the accessibility needs of the Deaf community.
Set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war, Gadar 2 follows the heroic journey of Tara Singh as he crosses the border to rescue his son, Charanjeet, while facing numerous challenges. This re-release aims to ensure that the film’s emotional and dramatic moments are accessible to everyone, further broadening its impact.
