Meenakshi Seshadri, a prominent name from the 1980s Bollywood, recently opened up about some memorable moments from her career, shedding light on controversial scenes and censorship issues. Known for her roles in hits like Hero (1983) and Ghatak: Lethal (1996), Seshadri remains a beloved figure despite her relatively short career in cinema.

In a recent conversation with Lehren Retro, Seshadri discussed her iconic kissing scene with Anil Kapoor in the 1988 film Vijay, directed by Yash Chopra. She revealed that her comfort with the scene was largely due to the professionalism of Chopra and Kapoor. “I could do it only because of Yashji and Anil,” she shared. “They were both very professional and relaxed. I knew the scene would be well-managed and not appear sleazy or inappropriate.”

Seshadri also reminisced about her role in Dacait (1987), directed by Rahul Rawail and featuring Sunny Deol. The film was meant to include a kissing scene between Seshadri and Deol, but it was ultimately cut by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). “The censors removed the kissing scene, so audiences never saw it,” she explained. Despite this, Seshadri highlighted her successful collaborations with Deol, mentioning how fans still wish to see them together again.

Seshadri, who married Harish Mysore in 1995, has left an enduring legacy in Bollywood. Her candid reflections on her career and experiences with censorship offer a fascinating glimpse into the challenges faced by actors in the industry.
