Shruti's character is no longer a modern, independent, and sensible woman. Makers have deliberately turned her into someone who is obstinate about marrying a guy who continues to love his ex-wife.

She knows very well that she can never take Anupama's place in Anuj's heart. But makers killed her parents, got her wounded by the goons, made her barren & insecure, just to stretch the boring love triangle. They also want Anupama to garner more sympathy from the viewers by adding grey shades to Shruti's character.

I love Sukirti Kandpal. She plays lead roles but don't know what made her accept a supporting role that is not even having a good character graph. Hopefully she quits this toxic show soon!

Shruti is sticking on the hope that she can have a family with Anuj. She knows Anuj loves Anupamaa but doesn’t want to accept because she is hopeful. Once she accepts that she will never get his love, she will back out.

Why is Anupama tailing behind Anuj? Isn't she aware of Shruti's insecurities? She hardly remained available for him and his daughter when they were actually married and now suddenly this OTT MAA KI MAMTA and all bullshit. Why can't she simply walk out and leave this trio to their fate? Her presence is making things murkier and she isn't oblivious to this. She is an obsessed woman instead who loves to play "damsel in distress" in front of her ex husbands. She just can't tolerate them "move on" with anybody else(whether voluntarily or under compulsion). The worst part is that she uses her children to further her agenda of constantly meddling into her ex'es lives.

Shh we don't discuss the main character and her flaws here, all random side characters with small roles are the ones dissected.

Think of it.

Shruti, a successful photographer in America meets Anuj for professional reasons and the two collaborate and she helps in his event management business eventually being partner. During this time they develop a bond, start living together and she brings the much needed stability in their turbulent and Adhya sees the mother she yearned for.

Shruti discovers the truth on her birthday and decides to first clear both their stances before taking a decision. While Anupama confirms that although she may not love anyone else like she loved Anuj, she has moved on from ALL Relations, Anuj informs that Anuj wants a closure on their relation and needs time to get over and come to teems with the sudden resurfacing if Anupama. She decides to give him the time to rethink his decision and take his time while she postpones the scheduled marriage indefinitely. Things take a turn with her parents who have been understandably excited about a wedding decide to join them in America and Shruti loses her family.

Even in this vulnerable state, she insists on going to India by herself, albeit supported by Adhya and not pursue any further actionson the schedule.

She has an emotional breakdown due to her feeling of loneliness especially since the developments in America with Anuj continuing to keep her hanging and is hospitalised. It may be safely assumed that the reality dawned on her and she dears losing the only family left with her.

While things are trying to come to terms with the uncertain state of affairs with Anupama claiming innocence and ignorance of Adhya and Anuj, Anuj putting if any honest concersations, another crisis comes up. She is shot in trying to save Adhya and Anupama further putting her in a vulnerable spot.

Now the only family she has are Adhya and Anuj. Imagine the extent of her love for Adhya, that she consented with Anuj to bring Anupama to her house tocure Adhya, the one woman she detests and could be the reason to break her family. Her fears are showing up with the blatant cheating by Anuj and Anupama in her house, taking advantage of her state.

With so much that has happened to her, is desperation the right word for why Shruti wants to keep the crumbs of the family she has? Is it easy to walk out, especially in the current state and the age that she may be?

Yes, it is the right thing to do but the right thing is doing the worst to the victim but NO CONSEQUENCES to the Perpetrators.

What is perhaps the right punishment for infidelity?

What will truly serve justice to the victim of cheating?

In a marriage or courtship, if the victim walks off, it is giving them more to deal with, while the cheaters get what they desired, freedom to legally go ahead.

How is Anupama different from Kavya, how is Anuj different from Anupama (while they were married)

Slight digression

There can be no justicesmiley6. Nothing at all. It's all luck. The kind of people one shall have around is all luck and luck can go either way. Some people get extremely lucky with parents, partners, and households, some are not, and some are partially lucky. There is no punishment for insensitive behavior, for being ignorant of the feelings of ones who love you..

You are right. Leaving may look like the right choice, but it will always be difficult for someone who honestly invested time and effort into a certain relationship. If Shruti leaves at this point she will be emotionally damaged, may be beyond repair, if she does not she will have to see Anuj's indifference and insensitivity towards her whole life. So as difficult as it is, the better thing is to take a leap of faith and leave. The best would be Shruti convince Adhya to come along and leave with her. This way she would not be completely devoid of family.

Shruti has zero brains. Whatever was before Anupama came, it has been very clear that Anuj is not romantically interested in her and only going through the motions because of the little devil Adhya. Why is Shruti ok with a loveless marriage? Does she really believe that if Anu left, Anuj would love Shruti as a wife? She has to shoo away adhya ASAP and not enable her. She needs to move on and find her own man. Anuj was never her, period
