Honestly I am disappointed with this. They needed to and should do far better than what they have passed as UCC.
for e g. Forced registration of live in. Parental permission. Or jail / fine. Possible maintenance after live in is terminated. Sadly I can’t even find anywhere despite looking to see an in depth or details on this so far. It was tabled and passed quickly. So perhaps in few days.
I hope they take their time to pass UCC as it’s powerful and a step in the right direction but they do have to get it 90% right at a min. I may have more agreements or differences between now I get a chance to understand more details of what got passed.
@bold - I think this is to men from increased false rape cases. Also, in case of false identity, registration of live-in will help women to register case against her partner. There are many cases where men have wives n are living in live-in with another woman. There are violence cases.
I think it’s important to register live-in to address crimes.
