The discussion is on Radha Krishna relationship in this changed circumstances—the point here is regarding their extramarital relationship. ---

History is a difficult subject. Even from the puraṇas we only have bits and pieces of info regarding the normal life including marital norms and how society controlled and defined certain issues in human relationships, esp in the issue of marriage, and extramarital relationships at that stage of history, in that specific Yuga.

The Vedas never say “one size fits all.” They never recommend applying moral principles to everyone in the same manner! The Vedas recognize at least four different basic personality types --thinker, leader, business, and employee, and each one of those four[ caste system] goes through four stages in life -student, family, retirement, and spiritual dedication, and the moral principles apply differently to each type of person in each phase of life!! The marital norms that apply to a thinker in the stage of spiritual dedication, for example, are extremely different than those that apply to an employee in the stage of family development!

In Dwapar Yug, there was a drastic change in the position of women, a quick change blinded the entire community at once and made them a bit confused. Giving you the examples for this sudden change! The society was liberal regarding the rightful rights of women at that stage, but the autocratic decisions taken by men is still a norm then, in this tussle, a few lives struggled, suffered and survived the scare of the society’s punishments. But in this process, some strong women characters emerged to question, to define and to display their decision making powers in an emphatic manner!

The examples are many—Satyavathi, a fisherwoman who yielded to Parasar’s lust [ can’t say divine or spiritual pleasure , for such Rushi who wanted to have her despite the boat nearing the shore where her father was waiting for his daughter!] hadVed Vyas, and later married king Santanu and almost till the reign of Duryodhana, she played a vital role in every royal decision in the Kuru dynasty!

Kunti, another strong woman who fought to get the status of royalty for her sons whom she got with ‘ divine blessings’, and displayed her ‘free will’ to leave her pre-marital son[ Sun’s blessing’] to his fate because of the scare of blame from the society! Kunti’s life was, a shy girl’s story and a strong mother’s quest!

Then Amba who questioned and  displayed her displeasure regarding the might of Bheesma and his autocratic decision! Draupadi is the best example of the different perspectives and angles of women’s freedom at that Dwapar yug!Rukmini, as a lover, Satya as a warrior queen, Subhadra, a doted sister of Krishna who married Arjun against her elder brother Balram’s wish—who wanted to give away her to his favorite student Duryodhan! AND FINALLY Radha , a free woman with strong beliefs, she displayed her attitude from the moment she met her Krishna,  who loved Krishna, who played and danced with Him, spent many cool nights on the river bank listening to the enchanting tunes of his flute music! Some Puranas says she was married by the time Krishna was born. Some stories depict that though there was age difference, they were played and grown up together and after Krishna left to Mathura she married Ayan, who is a pious person, who understood his wife’s eternal love for her Krishna and kept himself busy in Kali pooja and meeting sages and saints.

There was no such story as far as I know,[ mine is limited knowledge, I am very much aware of it.] that Krishna asked Radha to marry another one and again having a relationship with her!!

She represented the free culture of a village woman, who normally used to sell milk and curd to Mathura people, a businesswoman with a highly romantic heart for the overtures of her Krishna! She was famous for her beauty and brains at that time. Not because she was the daughter of a village mukhia. 

  Krishna is the soul of Radha and Radha is surely the soul of Krishna. Radha is the feminine aspects of  Krishna and is non-different from Krishna. In one of Krishna’s folk story, Krishna and Radha wear the dress of each other. And Radha becomes Krishna and Krishna becomes Radha. This story has clear proof and sign that they are one. So Radha is Krishna's dream girl and the melody in his music.

Here , in this serial, the story was different, Radha willingly [ though in unavoidable circumstances acco to the writer] married this cruel Ayan, and Krishna himself arranged everything from Bride decoration to the final Bidai. Then the door was closed symbolically.

Now as stormborn rightly mentioned, they entangled themselves in such a situation that there was no amicable solution or conducive atmosphere for the continuation of Radha Krishna bonding in physical form.  She herself closed her door for Krishna, then how she will proceed further with her attachment with Krishna? In this situation, if they meet each other, it looks like an extramarital affair, not a divine bonding. It is my personal opinion.

Well said M. And it is that and as usual the CVs krishna is again the instigator. As radha has no spine so she is easily manipulated by Krishna.

Bold: They will never admit that they have long lost the thread of their history, it will be like saying that they were wrong and that they didn't know what they were doing... Anyway, there are not many months left to support them!

The case of Radha, who is mostly portrayed as a clandestine lover of the god Krishna, seems to challenge some of the norms the earlier great women, the followers of morals has set. 

They scrapped the divinity of Krishna completely with Radha's marriage, the cause and effect behind that marriage in such a way that there was no logic, no wisdom at all!! They have no idea what the real Gokul Krishna was!!!

What would make all the milkmaids of Vrindavan, abandon their coyness as they hastened to meet Krishna, in spite of prior commitments? What made the very much married Radha fall so unabashedly in love with her Kanha? Why did the princess Meera Bai forsake the world in search and longing for Krishna? Why do poets, painters, artists make Krishna a dominant theme in their works? What makes Krishna, so irresistible a lover and, a perfect God to follow by millions of devotees since his incarnation on earth? 

The great preacher was made here as  a mere adolescent boy with confusing concepts! A Philosopher was made here as an amateurish decision maker in his most beloved Radha's life! A  highly romantic lover was presented here as an autocratic decision maker to push her into a pit of fire every now and then! 

As you both rightly mentioned he invented all badhas for Radha and then started teaching her the morals and ethics! Never allowed her to decide what she wanted to do regarding their love! This Krishna contradicted his own words and blaming Radha for her innocence! 

The real Krishna-- The dreamy lotus-shaped eyes, the full mischievous smile, the serene sky-colored complexion, and the lithe-supple body!! [Sumedh represented well the real Krishna in appearance. But the story defeated his acting talent there, the story is not at par with his acting prowess! ] The reason behind the irresistible appeal of the flute playing God lies in the fact that he embodies love at all levels, Spiritual, mental and physical. He is all accepting, he gratified the ugly hunched-back Kubja’s wish, who was hated and forsaken by all and transformed her into a beautiful maiden. He rescued 16,100 maidens, who were imprisoned by Demon Narakasur, and married them to restore their blemished honor. He was a social reformer, a decision maker and tried to define the social norms with his wisdom and foresight! Never do any harm to any woman in his life. He even fulfilled the motherly wish of Putana before suckling her life in the form of breast milk. 

Krishna’s love is such that every devotee is made to feel the chosen one.

His love for the married Radha, was incomparable[ the actual story]! Their love was such that the lover would become the loved and vice versa, there was no inhibition, no bar, no ego – but a fountain of incessant, pure love. Such reunion of the soul is rare, where one forgets which one of the two he is, immersed in spiritual, mental and physical reunion. That’s why Radha-Krishna’s love is worshipped rather than being termed as adulterous.

Radha broke all norms, bore scandalous blames to follow the path of devotional love. Her love expresses intense passion and devotion for her God! And regarding our Krishna , He greets the beloved through a smile of an infant, the music of birds and laughter of a friend!!  He has ways and means to reach and infuse her with positive thoughts. Like ordinary lovers, he never abandons his beloved, never causes heartbreak!! This simple fact the serial makers forgot!

Raas has been ruined for a long time with this wedding thing! 

Krishna used it to manipulate Vrishban, so don't even mention it! So it doesn't even have any meaning at this point! 

Me which bothers me besides the fact that Radha married Ayan without knowing who he is.

Radha was married before Krishna arrived, so she was old enough to understand things, whereas here we have a naive Radha who doesn't have enough spine to think for herself! 

It's manipulation, Krishna made Radha love her as a human, then he betrayed her (he has no other word for me). So they just machined it up. 

Radha is certainly 16 years old, so we will say that her love for Krishna is innocent, but she still loved him as a woman loves a man, she devoted herself to him, she gave everything for him. On the other hand, his love was an illusion, just a piece in his indefinite puzzle about teaching love to humans! But what a love! 

We can't give up anything for this Krishna, because he's just an illusion, he's not even faithful to himself, so why should we be faithful to him?

Because the only question I ask myself is, why does he want Radha to admit that she still loves him? What's it going to help him with? She's married, for God's sake!

Radha has no idea of Ayan's cruelty, but Krishna knows it !!! 

Radha has no idea of the curse and the consequences, but she only knows about Ugra's demand,she  should know that there are other solutions too to prevent her parents' banishment-- Vanaprasth! Marrying Ayan was the suggestion of Krishna  --- sorry to say this , but saying, even if God himself really do such blunder in real, I will never pardon him!! Throwing Radha into that criminal's house??

At this point, Krishna is as cruel as Ayan! The fact that he allowed Radha to marry him shows that he agrees with everything Ayan did!

Because for a God who claims to love Radha and only wants her happiness, he has done nothing to make her happy.

He manipulated him, he pulled every string so that Radha would never have free will.

Anyway, I said from the beginning that the blame will go to Krishna! 

Radha is only a secondary character in her own story! 

The only time Radha thought was always in the opposite direction....

I really want to see what happens to their adultery!
