Okay, so here is the Urdu introduction/history I came up with. It just needs to be edited and added on too. I was thinking we could add a Sher to the end? 😳 And Fari, great start!

Urdu is the premium language for poetry, Sher o Shari (proverbs), Gaazaal (musical poetry), Nazm (objective poetry), Masnavi (a longer poem, narrative), Qasida (poems in praise, usually of royalty), and Naat's (poetry in religious praise) all over South Asia. One of the first Urdu poets was Mir Taqi Mir and after him many followed in lead. Popular Urdu poets and writers include Allama Iqbal, Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Ahmed Faraz, and Mirza Ghalib.
