*CHAPTER 3- RED DRESS*
"Bhaiyya! It's your wedding tomorrow! WAKE UP!" Khushi yelled in Shyam's ear.
Shyam groaned. "Pari it is TOMORROW! NOT TODAY!"
"Beta, let Bhaiyya relax for sometime!" Her mother called from the other bedroom.
Khushi pouted, and slowly grinned. "Bhaiyya, I think I will call Di... Maybe she will remind you that you have to take her shopping today!"
Shyam shot out of the bed. "OH DAMN! I forgot. Pari, you won't tell her that I forgot." Shyam warned.
Khushi giggled. "I make no promises!" And ran before he could smack her.
-At the shop-
Anjali was examining a saree, and Khushi was looking around for some dress. Shyam just sat out, bored out of his mind. Anjali looked slyly at Khushi and said casually. "You know Khushi, Chhotey likes red color..."
"Hmm..Red is it?" Khushi murmured.
Anjali observed that Khushi was now looking only for red dresses. She was going to wear a ghaghra. She picked a red one with sequins all over it and golden border. As she looked in the mirror, Anjali whispered to Khushi. "Don't worry! Chhotey will like it!"
"You think so Di?" Khushi asked thoughtfully and froze, and blushed a bright red much to Anjali's amusement
"LIKE I care!" she said tossing away the dress and left to stand with her brother.
Anjali just laughed, thoroughly satisfied. After shopping was done, Khushi went back home, a weirdly stupid smile on her face that made Anjali suspicious.
She told Shyam about hers and Khushi's little exchange at the shop. Shyam laughed. "No wonder then!"
-That night-
"Bhaiyya! It's your wedding tomorrow. Go to sleep." Khushi said as they were watching TV. Their mother laughed.
"Pari its just seven in the evening."
"Look you better go sleep now...We need to reach RM early tomorrow..." Manyata, their mother said.
Grimacing, SHyam left. It was going to be a big day tomorrow; wedding and match-fixing for his sister. He shook his head in disgust; which brother did that? ANY NORMAL brother by now would have been running background check on the boy...
Khushi stared at the ceiling of her room; decked with fluorescent stars. She kept glancing at the moon, visible from the window above her head. She sighed, and tears began flowing; he would NEVER love her... What was she to him anyway! Besides, he was too good for her...
Arnav still felt tingly when he thought about that hug. Bloody Hell! Lavanya has such wrong timings! Well it was Di's wedding tomorrow and he had lots of work as well tomorrow. He drifted off to sleep, hoping that by way or the other, she would love him too...He knew it was too much to ask...She was too good for him...
Both fell asleep, dreaming of the other and ignorant of what lay in the future.
-Next Day-
~GH~
"So Khushi...Are you preparing for your challenge?" Shyam asked.
"Oho! Let it be for now Bhaiyya! I will see it on the day!" Khushi said, trying not to show her frustration. Shyam saw through it, but kept silent. He knew that given sometime, she would tell him.
"Beta, We will join you later! You go to RM!" Mamma called.
"Ji Mamma!" Khushi called out.
Checking carefully in the mirror, she ran out. Would she see him today? she thought... No...Maybe not.. Lord Hastings (NOT Laad Governor in this) probably has is nose in some weird book about business and stuff...Why couldn't he just read what normal people read? Oh yeah, because he is NOT normal. THats why she fell for him in the first place! Shut up Khushi! What are you thinking...?! He is a friend! ONLY friend!
She had reached her destination. Khushi carefully looked around and made sure no one was watching.
Quietly, she put her hand on the wall, gripping it steadily with practiced hands. Hmph! Who would go all the way round when climbing wall was much easier...Besides, this was the most secluded part of the wall that separated RM from GH.
Arnav was tired of the hustle-bustle in the house. He took a novel, and went out. Th the right was the wall that separated GH and RM. He walked till he found the most secluded part of the wall...!
