Top 5 happenings of 2011!
# 1 : Reema Khan's wedding...
Without a doubt , this is the biggest news of 2011. We all wanted it to happen, but no one saw it coming. Our very own Reema-who gave us another hit this year- tied the knot to the American resident Pakistani, Dr.Tariq Shahab. The actress celebrated her valima on 18th December in USA.
The marriage that no one saw coming was also a controversial event, as many of her fans were left rather upset due to the actress not announcing it prior to the happening, and most notably for her baraat not going from her very own country.
Well, Mrs.Reema, we are disappointed in you too, but wish you a Happy Married Life.
The actress is rumored to return to Pakistan in mid 2012 to work on her upcoming movie.
#2 : Demise of Moin Akhtar
22-APril-2011, was a sad day for our own legendary actor Moin Akhtar passed away on this day. The actor who was said to be suffering from heart disease passed away in 2011. No one saw it coming, as the actor was rumored to start work on his next project.
The day made one and all in the industry sad, with many paying homage to this great celebrity. Even Madame Tussauds showed interest in having his statue in the museum, but the request was denied by his son.
#3 Veeana Malik in FHM
Our own Veena Malik, who is controversy's favorite child is not very far away in the race. The actress who is in India for her upcoming projects attracted a lot of "wrong" attention for allegedly posing nude for a leading men's magazine(For Him Magazine). The pictures when first leaked creater a sitrr on the internet, making her trend on Yahoo India!.
Even though the actress has denied going nude, but she confessed that she was topless and very comfortable with the idea. We don't know how much truth to the story is , but we sincerely believe that this done more damage to her career than good, and with her new show "Veena Ka Vivaah" going on air in 2012 on Imagine, we expect some more fire.
#4 :- Camps in Television
They have been denying it for the longest period of time, but it now is official. There indeed are camps in our small television industry.
Bollywood is rather infamous for having the same thing, but apni industry isn't prone to the disease either. There are camps in our industry with two big production houses leadng it like "A&B Productions" , and "Six Sigma Productions". The only big production house that hasn't entered this race is "Momal Productions".
Thie is why the chances of seeing a Faysal Qureshi with Humayun Saeed is as good as expecting Meera to win an Oscar. We will soon be doing a complete article on this problem for you to know what really is going on in these camps.
#5 : - Humsafar
Everyone in the country knows this name today. Humsafar has done what no other serial was able to do. The serial directed by Sarmad Khoosat, that airs on HUM TV every Saturday at 8:00 PM is a massive hit with one and all.
Managing a rating of 6(avg) this is the highest rated serial in years, and the makers have every reason to celebrate. Agreed or not, this has done more good for the leap actor Fawad Khan than any one else. The man is a household name today with girls going gaga and men envying his looks.
Humsafar has went on to create many records, and is still doing so. This will be talked about for years.
Well, this is it for today. There are more happenings like "Meera Pati", 'Shahid Masood juming jacks", "the time change", and "Ali Zafar in Bollywood".. but this is all that could make it to the top 5.
2011 all in all has been a great year, and we expect more great things from 2012.
