This new series begins airing at 10:30 pm on June 26, 2023. The promo shows a construction site where Kasturi works out a compromise between workers and locals.

One of the leads is Ashok Phal Dessai, famous for Jīva Zhālā Yeḍāpisā and most recently starring in Ābhāḷācī Māyā.

I hope both leads are complex and situations are realistic, not the usual perfect heroine reforming an arrogant rich hero with formulaic love-hate, opposites-attract scenes.

By the way, the word for musk is कस्तूरी, but the title song pronounces it कस्तुरी and the logo also spells it that way.

A friend of mine told me this is an adaptation of a kannada show. It's a good show she said.

I like dushyant wagh. He's the female lead's brother

Now I want to know which Kannada show is the original.

Lately, I've caught several remakes: Rājā Rāṇīcī Gaṃ Zoḍī (from Kannada Maṅgalā Gaurī Maduve), Ābhāḷācī Māyā (from Tamil Vāṉattaip Pōla), Dāra Ughaḍa Baye (from Bengali Jamunā Ḍhākī), and Ramā Rāghava (from Kannada Rāmācārī).

Every one of these serials has outrageous villainy, unrelatable characters, and regressive messages.

I don't want to be prejudiced against all remakes or their cultural origins, so it would be nice to enjoy a remake of a good show.

I liked the other promo where her brother ties Rakhi on her hand. It felt sweet. ❤️

The construction promo - not sure about it.

Let's see how it works out.

It is sweet to see a brother respecting his sister as his protector and role model.

The Marathi TV shows that I watch often have the male lead's younger sister in awe of his capability and allowing him to dictate her life. Examples: Sonal with Shiva on Jīva Zhālā Yeḍāpisā, Ambika with Jayadev on Ābhāḷācī Māyā, Shruti with Raghav on Ramā Rāghava, Priya with Arjun on Piratīçā Vanavā Urī Peṭalā ...

It's rare for me to see the younger brother allowing his older sister to take charge. The only example I can recall is from the elderly generation: Uttamrav with Tulasa on Sundarā Manāmadhe Bharalī, and no one wants to see enabler-and-aggressor siblings like them!

I hope Kasturi and her brother will be the way the promos showed them. They each make their own choices and don't always agree, but they can count on each other's support.

The Kannada original is called Keṇḍasampige (ಕೆಂಡಸಂಪಿಗೆ) on Colors Kannada.

Spoilers that I wish I hadn't read:

I watched Kendasampige a bit and I'm so glad Ashok took up the role. The male lead is a little shrewd cunning politician, but not abusive and certainly no hate-love. Slightly grey shaded too. Only one thing that irks me is the continues plotting by two arrogant ladies against Kasturi.

I dont want to reveal much spoilers, I will watch it for ashok, he did well in mhrw as a negative character. Let's see how he does this role.

He was fab in JZYP. I watched with my parents and we loved his acting.

Hope he'll be as good here.

The lead girl looks meh.

Ashok Phal Dessai's character's name is Samar Kuber.

Which name sounds better - warlike Samar or the original ahiṃsā-inspiring name Tirthankar?

Family name fabulously wealthy Kuber, or the original benevolent name Prasad?

I think Marathi version named him based on his character. Coz he always has battles between his good and bad conscience 😉😆 You’ll get what I mean soon
