We're closing in on the halfway mark of this season's Indian Premier League and we've a mid-table clash tonight between the Gujarat Titans and the Delhi Capitals. Placed 6th and 9th respectively, both teams have had a mixed tournament, a few wins and a few losses, but the former can get closer to the top-4 with a win today. On the other hand, the Capitals broke a sequence of four straight losses with a good win against the Supergiants from Lucknow and that'll keep them in good spirits. Fraser Mc-Gurk, making his IPL debut blasted a quickfire half-century and the positivity spread to the batting line-up as they humbled Lucknow, a team that had never lost defending 160+ scores previously. On the other hand, the Titans bounced back from two successive losses, defeating the Rajasthan Royals in a high-scoring encounter. Two teams with a win under their belt and with confidence restored and we should have a cracking game on our hand.

The square boundaries are 61m and 72m long, while the straight boundary is at 75m. We're playing on pitch 4 for the first time this season, it's a 100% black soil pitch. It doesn't have a lot of grass, but it should still be a very good batting pitch with no real turn for the spinners. At 41 degrees, it's a very warm day and dew could be a factor. That could play a role in what the toss winning captain decides, reckon Daren Ganga and Simon Katich, in their pitch report

Jake Fraser-McGurk: "I know a few players in the Gujarat team, so looking forward to going head-to-head with them. Just to get the win and get ourselves back is the main thing. To have some personal success is good. [Ponting has advised] just to not swing too hard. [Pant had] some very Australia sort of things to say [the other day]. I obviously got the face smacked in the cake! Just learnt [about] different conditions [in India] - it's hot here!"

In a quick look-forward piece for tonight, here's our preview. DC have been hit by injuries: Mitchell Marsh is back home, while David Warner is set to sit out due to a hurt finger. And yet, their coach Ricky Ponting says it is attacking batting which will win this IPL for any side.

As for GT, they will have David Miller back after he missed three games due to a niggle, apart from having Rashid Khan back in form.
