Also since he is 50% owner now and not 51%, he essentially lost Dharma..he will have to ask his partner permission for everything, which must sting.

i think Brahmastra did a number on Dharma, that was supposed to be his Bahubali. As always actors moved on and producers went bankrupt.

I don't understand how he let it get this bad, even yashraj had a patch of bad films and flops but Adi chopra didnt lose his company. Kjo def is not financially savy, he needs to focus on one thing instead of trying to do million things.

He could have accepted a slightly lesser offer and kept 51%. It's very strange that he's given up so much power by doing this. He is doing a PR drive claiming Dharma got a 1000 crore investment but that is not the case - he's cashed out his part and put that 1000 crore in his own pocket, not into Dharma.

Unless he has plans for a 2nd business of some sort and wanted the equity in his hand instead of being stuck in Dharma. He must have something in mind.

Why would Poonawala want to enter into entertainment?

Just out of curiosity, why did Adar marry Natasha,? Her conduct and dressing isn't befitting of her husband's business. What's with these business scions marrying annoying women. eg Sharmin.

Why not? Poonawalas made a killing during the pandemic and are richer than ever. Prior to that, they only had like 1 or 2 billion, which is rich but nothing major compared to the real wealthy ones.

Now they are doing the same thing Ambanis have been doing - they are going after the publicity and respect and stardom. Getting into Dharma means instant celebrity connections, going to parties and events and award shows as power players and more of the general public get to know who they are.

I doubt they would give a damn about what movies KJo makes - this is just something for them to flaunt.

Reading comments under Himesh's tweet was revelation. I myself was surprised. Dharma has no goodwill among people.Dharma was always exclusive..They worked only with a small set of people. The difference then was everyone wanted 'in' those days. Today no one does. Today Dharma is useless for stars. That is really the bottom line.

Exactly. Dharma used to be exclusive for only the really big stars like SRK, Kajol, the Bachchans, Preity, Rani, Hrithik, etc.

Then KJo ruined that by casting only nepokids. In fact, the majority of the nepokids' filmography is almost always Dharma. Doesn't Kjo realize his company tanked when he stopped making material for the big stars and in turn, they stopped working for him?

Even films like ADHM and Rocky aur Rani were troubled by the imperfect castings. The few times he made correct casting choices here (Aishwarya, Ranveer, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi), he would ruin it by casting a chemistry-less pairing like Ranbir/Anushka (who KJo was really determined to make into a thing for some reason, even after Bombay Velvet was a disaster) or casting his ladli daughter. Meanwhile stars like SRK and Fawad were wasted in cameos.

A lot of NRIs and 90s kids have nostalgia with kjo movies, he could have totally cashed it on it instead of making fun of his own legacy and his good work.

Whenever a film is delayed..the interests soar. This film was in the making for 5 yearssmiley29Kjo tried to make an over ambitious film, with a bombastic title..with his Blockbuster romcom Jodi of Ayan and RK..and added a cutie Alia as the heroine.People in UP,Bihar probably were not impressed.

Jatinder was such a knowledgeable BO expert. After joining PinkVilla,he has become an influencer. Today every critic, every BW handle is an influencer. Nothing wrong with that.We as an audience adapt to every change.

What I was trying you say is the valuation is highly exaggerated or false or PR stunt because being a business Poonawala would know very well that if another successful business organisation valued it at Rs 600 cr then why would you pay Rs 1000 cr for the same? That's stupidity and not making business sense.

Poonawala did well in the field he is already great at,i.e developing vaccines. Movie business is entirely different. It requires very different approach. It's not about hiring professionals or having state of the art technology. This field is more about luck and passion.
