Khatiya was a very heavily criticized song at that time......maybe now it wouldn't be but was a big deal at that time which made Bachachan's to not want Karisma as their daughter-in-law....

They were dating much before that.....and one of the reasons it it not being approved by the Bachchan family was Karishma's career and the way it was going.....there were several articles and speculation about it.
