Dev Patel is a good actor and also often, I like the debut movie of a director as it is quite of pouring out something v e r y important to the director.

So true.

Btw, did you know Dev is a huge SRK fan? He did an AMA on Reddit for Monkey Man a while back and confessed his love for SRK.

No, I didn't know...it's nice smiley1 (but honestly, my liking would be the same if he wasn't SRK's fan smiley1)...

It had been SRK's acting in the first five movies I had watched and it had been especially Dil Se as the last of the five that made me look SRK up in Google after this watching marathon...it made me then understand why I connected with his acting without knowing anything about him before. That he was such an important star of Hindi Cinema in 2006 couldn't have influenced his effect on me as I only got to know it after the fifth movie with him.

My journey into Hindi Cinema was - for a long time - because of my emotional connection to the acting of other actors/actresses I watched in SRK's movies.

He was so articulate too? So refreashing from the vague, open-ended platitudes? He would do well at the BAFTAs and Oscars. And it is needed tbh.

Shocked!

But I believe democracy ke nanihal mein filmon ki kya zaroorat hai? People do not understand the difference between reel and real after all.

As a host? Yeah, he would. He did win a BAFTA for Lion and his speech was beautiful. He was overwhelmed but still articulate. My man.

He might. Might even get a Golden Globe. The whites are fawning over the film.

It is very selfish of me but I want more desi directors and less neo-orientalist crap to be prominent in the international market.
