It's a pity how behind bollywood is on high tech VFX stuff, this trailer felt like I was watching a promo of a Naagin show coming up on Star Plus. When Mouni showed up, I had to make sure I was watching the right thing.

The story looks interesting enough and Ranbir can act, so I would have liked watching it if he was paired up with someone else and the visual effects weren't so tacky. Ranbir Alia have zero chemistry to make it worse. Will this movie work? Your guess is as good as mine!

It's the money not the tech or talent since most of the VFX of Hollywood is also done by Indian companies (including the one who has done VFX for Brahmastra). Indian movies just do not have the budget of an average Hollywood VFX heavy film. So even if the vision of an Indian director is out of the world, the budget comes in between achieving that. Baahubali too had subpar VFX. It only looked grand because of the set pieces and the mythological aura.

Also doesn't make sense for production houses here to invest beyond a point for VFX given the audience doesn't really care much abt the VFX like Marvel audience would abroad. I mean the pinnacle of outstanding VFX being Baahubali series among Indian audiences speaks a lot about our preferences. 😅
